RME JICO Posted May 31, 2007 Share Posted May 31, 2007 I was actually surprised the Sox did not scoop him up with a minor league deal. He was batting .313/.444/.618 with 9 HR and 8 SB in AAA. The Padres will add Hiram Bocachica to their roster prior to Friday's game. Bocachica will likely replace either Oscar Robles or Paul McAnulty, probably the former. McAnulty could then be sent down when Brian Giles is activated from the disabled list. Bocachica will start against lefties until Giles returns, but he'll mostly be used as a pinch-hitter.
