That game really, really hurt me. I can't really say why, but it felt like my heart was taken out and beaten to a pulp. Owens will be replacing him, and there is a damn good chance he will do a better job. Erstad and his .316 on base percentage won't be a huge loss. He's not a CFer, which means we're playing Luis Terrero, a 27 year old former top prospect who the Orioles and D-Backs gave up on. This should be interesting. Erstad's a MAJOR loss. It takes a lot to put up an OPS of .680 as an OFer. Worst case scenario: The Sox didn't get any worse today. Best case scenario: They just got better. Maybe now KW will be forced to go out and get a real OFer, and Erstad's injury assures that he won't be back for 2008, which is a big positive for the franchise.
