WHITESOXRANDY
Intersting note that there are 2 guys tied for the M.L. lead in RBI's at 52 - Ordonez and Lee. And, Sosa is 8th in the A.L. with 42. Dye is tied for 66th in M.L. with 29. I'm not saying....I'm just saying. I was in favor of all of the Sox deals involving these players. Although, I really wanted them to trade Ordonez before the season that he got injured because I could just tell that he wasn't going to re-sign with the Sox. That's why I don't want to end up getting nothing for Dye or Buehrle.
maggsmaggs
All I got to say, and its not directed at you because you said you were in favor of the deals, World Series Championship in 2005 or moderate success with these two players right now? Dick Allen
Can't complain. The Sox would not have won the WS if Maggs was still on the team in 2005, and probably not with CLee either. They were able to sign some guys with the money trading him freed up. They can hit. Too bad the Sox can't produce any more of them.
RibbieRubarb
QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) Intersting note that there are 2 guys tied for the M.L. lead in RBI's at 52 - Ordonez and Lee. I'm not saying....I'm just saying. They lead MLB in RBIs but the rest of the Sox team lead them in World Series Championships.
Steve9347
omfg... these two were dealt/let go before the 2005 season... anyone remember that season? would you trade that season!?!?
RME JICO
CLee can lead all the categories he wants, but for some reason teams don't do anything when he plays for them. The Sox win the WS the year after he leaves. Houston is 1.5GB out of the cellar in the NL Central right now, and Milwaukee finally started to win once he left. Coincidence or not, you decide. SoxFan1
Like RME JICO said, Carlos Lee and Magglio Ordonez can lead all the stat categories they want, they don't have a World Series trophy. Edited June 4, 2007 by SoxFan1
Pants Rowland
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) Like RME JICO said, Carlos Lee and Magglio Ordonez can lead all the stat categories they want, they don't have a World Series trophy. True, but Magglio did win a pennant last year and looks poised to make another postseason appearance this year. He is solid ballplayer that I would not mind seeing on the Sox in some capacity. Lee is another story.
Balta1701
Does anyone here think that either of these 2 folks have/will be worth their contracts? Mags, $75 mil for 5 years after missing nearly the first full season, CLee 6 years, what, $100 mil? Mags, maybe, if he keeps up this level of production for the next 2.6 seasons.
