BearSox
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws You know what, I have always been a fan of Podsednik, but prancer dancer has really become annoying over the past 2 seasons with injuries. But after seeing Owens sad attempt at being a major league leadoff hitter, I am about ready for Podsednik. He was off to a fairly decent start of the season but then get injured. Lets just hope he is fully healed, and we don't have to watch him get thrown out by Victor Martinez again. No more excuses Mr. Podsednik. It's time to either put up, or get the f*ck outta here. Kalapse
I'm sure he'll be back to full speed after returning from his second Abductor strain to go along with that whole groin issue he had last season. Can't wait to see him get down the line when he gets back.

bulokis
Why are some people so excited for Pods to comeback? I dont think he can save this pathetic offense.

It would put a lot less stress on his legs (although maybe he'd still rupture a quad...who knows).

The problem is Podsednik is playing poorly/is hurt more often than he's playing well. That being said he was one of the better leadoff hitters in all of baseball for the first 15 games of the season. There isn't a single person currently in the organization (aside from a healthy Podsednik of course) with the abilities necessary to be even a mediocre major league leadoff hitter which is a serious problem. Where did I say I hope he fails? Damn, that was unexpected. I hope more than anything that he can come back and play at full capacity, nothing would help this anemic offense more, I doubt he can but i hope it happens. knightni
I have my doubts that Podsednik can remain healthy at least through 2007. If he took most of this season off, he might be close to 100% by 2008. Unfortunately, he keeps having similar injuries in the same places. That is the basic definition of prone from what I've seen. So far, Owens has really shown his inexperience at the plate. Maybe by next year if he has a good Spring Training, he could get a 25 man spot. Oh god I hope he's not around next year. He shouldn't even have been brought back for this '07, a 4th season of Podsednik could be enough to kill me. I do agree though, the only real way for Podsednik to get his legs back at this point is probably to just take 10 months or so off and just concentrate on rehab. knightni
With this franchise's recent fortunes, he'd go to a team like Oakland and steal 80 next year.

Dick Allen
From the Tribune, "Ozzie told me don't come back until you're ready to steal a base," Podsednik said. "I'm most valuable when I'm on base. Without my ability to steal a base, I'm pretty much useless." At least he's realistic.

"I'm most valuable when I'm on base. Without my ability to steal a base, I'm pretty much useless." At least he's realistic. The problem is, he is light years ahead of Jerry Owens. Owens looks as lost as Sweeney did when he was up. There are so many other issue swith this team that the fact Owens is leading off is the least of them.
