SoxAce
QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) mlb.com draft tracker I am too but it's f***ing up for me.
BearSox
I forgot about Burbon. He would be very good as our future leadoff man... But hey, Erstad and Pods obviously are very durable and still young.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) What's the more annoying argument: - if you know so much, then why aren't you managing in the majors? or - if you think such and such team is so good, then why don't you become a fan of that team? The "Bad Fan" card is the most annoying easily.
GoSox05
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) Yes, pull out the bad fan card and that you are the superior Sox fan. That will be f***ing hilarious. I never said that. But the negative, the Sox suck, the manger sucks, the gm sucks none stop daily vibe around here is bulls***.

Greg The Bull Luzinski
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) Chris Rongy? If it was, he would just hang up on us.

danman31
For the record, as asked above, Kip Wells was the 1st rounder in 1998 with Rowand going 35th overall.

But the negative, the Sox suck, the manger sucks, the gm sucks none stop daily vibe around here is bulls***. All we're asking is for them to prove us wrong. It's been almost an entire season worth of the team slumping, crap in the media, questionable decision making, and lethargic play. KW was the toast of this site last year around this time, even after the bad Vazquez trade.
SoxAce
I should keep a stat track in the minors of Poreda and Porcello (if he does sign) just to keep everyone happy.
CWSGuy406
For those who still care, Smoker and Borbon (sp?) are off the bored (that should say board, although maybe it's a Freudian slip with ESPN's s***ty coverage). Nevin Griffith still there, although it's still 50+ picks until the Sox. Edited June 7, 2007 by CWSGuy406

Flash Tizzle
I notice my guy Nevin Griffith remains. As do Greg Peavey (Boras client), Julian Sampson, Tanner Robbles. We're on selection 44, though. With double that remaining until we're up.
maggsmaggs
"They also were looking for a player with raw talent, an individual with the potential to be developed into a Major League All-Star at some point in his career. In left-hander Aaron Poreda, the White Sox just might have got their man. " Quote from Whitesox.com Poreda may be a solid pitcher one day, but he is never gonna be an all-star. nitetrain8601
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) What's the more annoying argument: - if you know so much, then why aren't you managing in the majors? or - if you think such and such team is so good, then why don't you become a fan of that team? Both are terribly crappy considering we're pissed because we care for this team. You think we're pissed about what the Giants are doing? I'm not because I don't give a hoot about them. I care for the White Sox and about our GM putting them in the best position to succeed on all accounts.
RibbieRubarb
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) I am beginning to think Ribbie is incapable of leveling any criticism against the White Sox organization. You speak in absolutes. "If you don't like what the White Sox are doing, you are a bad White Sox fan." Chill out and agree to disagree. Well then you never read my posts. I can be critical of the team. But what I do not stand for is extreme negative assumptions by a few. I prefer a more balanced approach to analyzing a team. Not the fortune-telling methods of some that exclaim the Sox are through and the Tigers will be dominant for years to come whent wo guys haven't thrown one pitch yet. Could our draft pick be a bust...Hell yes. Does he have issues? Yes. He needs a secondary and third pitch that are conisitant. But to call for Kenny firing over this...that extreme and not thought-out. The major misconception on this board that those like me are uncapable of not liking what the Sox do... WRONG. We are able to put our reactionary emotions aside and look at the big picture and analyze what is going on. Every loss doesn't send us to a ledge and every win doesn't send us buying World Series tickets. Take a breath and ease up.
