Kalapse
Well I guess Kenny Williams can never be accused of not doing enough to bring blacks into the game. What percentage of this year's picks have been black? Anybody know?

danman31
From a Perfect Game 2005 underclassmen showcase. Link ranking prospects 3-Christopher Epps-OF-Dunwoody HS-Stone Mountain, GA-6'1"/165-(2007)-Was one of the top hitters at the event and showed big arm strength in the OF. He posted a 6.96 sixty time. Very good bat speed and an advanced approach at the plate. He has a short and powerful stroke. Knows how to use his hands and goes after the ball. Palehosefan
BlueJays already finished drafting before the 36th round? Weird. So if you haven't figured out our draft strategy yet, it's apparently draft tallest pitchers available and smallest infielders available. Piranha's and projectable tall pitchers I suppose. danman31
Yeah, I went looking for a Guillen Oney and then realized he wasn't even on North Park's roster and they got the name wrong, it's Ozzie's son. Now we wait for someone to freak out that the Sox drafted a kid that doesn't even play baseball anymore.
Palehosefan
Lack of draft and follows really affecting the draft apparently. BlueJays and Padres already out now. Will be interesting to see if MLB shortens the draft again.
Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) BlueJays already finished drafting before the 36th round? Weird. So if you haven't figured out our draft strategy yet, it's apparently draft tallest pitchers available and smallest infielders available. Piranha's and projectable tall pitchers I suppose. There's no draft-and-follow this year, which probably took up about 5-10 spots for every team. Teams stop drafting in the early 40's in the past, so 36 doesn't seem like such a stretch now. danman31
38. Grant Monroe, RHP, Schaumburg HS 6'4" 205 A local kid now. His name is familiar, I actually think he plays basketball and is decent. The Twins also drafted a 5'3" SS from Louisville named Chris Cates. He's not much of a hitter, respectable in college, but a sick defender. If this guy makes the Majors, I quit being a fan. He would undoubtedly destroy the White Sox with countless bunts on that garbage surface. 39. Roderick Jones, CF, Chamblee HS, R/R, 5'9",

I know, I'm surprised he got drafted, but believe it or not he is the best defender I saw all year. 40. Austin King, 2B, Gallia Academy (HS), R/R, 6'2", 200 The Mets and Dodgers stopped drafting in the 40th round. 41. Devon Shines, 1B, Westwood HS, R/L, 5'10", 195 I'm gonna guess Razor's son.
