u know, i have never gotten how mariano is so effective. on tv it doesnt look like the cutter moves THAT much, yet it always breaks bats. i like paulies approach- he shortened up his swing, and widened his stance. nice job paulie. come on pierzynski

Pitch over the melon, AJ swings at it, of course, he is a white sox hitter after all. In the dirt and over the head are all fair game.

Then he gets tossed out for the bat slam. Its the bats fault that he swung over his head.

BTW, Torre deserves a lot of credit for bringing in Jeter to leadoff the 8th inning.

go for it AJ - I'm glad to see someone with some emotion on this team

Yeah, but let's not be the Cubs and argue when the call is blatantly correct.

Well...those people are just stupid. I'm still waiting for Thome to do anything clutch this season.

OPS:

7th inning: .962

8th inning: .833

9th inning: 1.317

within 1 run: 1.128

tie game: 1.144

RISP: 1.074

RISP w/2 outs: 1.167

Kalapse, am I missing anything?

We have plenty of guys who do the suicide shrug and bat slam. Thats not emotion, thats just beating up inanimate objects over bad strikezone awareness.

Then why can I not think of a single time he came up clutch in the 8th or 9th inning? I have a great memory with that type of stuff, and I really can't think of anything.

For a team with a payroll over $100 million, the Sox sure do have a lot of guys who really are below average.

Well it wont be 100 million next year. We will get a market correction after this year.
