greg775
Sorry to start a new thread but ... are you kidding me? How can this be happening? Worst bullpen in modern history?
fathom
There's been others that have been worse. If there's an important out to get with 4 outs or less left in the game, we have to get Jenks in the freaking game. Also, Boone should be the lefty specialist. I'd like to see Thornton get to start more innings, as I think he gets preoccupied with runners on base. The rest of the righties in the bullpen are a joke, and KW should be fired instantly. Nothing Kenny can do he already laid the egg we have to painfully watch it hatch. the difference in 05 was we some lucky breaks. This year everything that can go wrong does. Don't count on anything positive happening we know what is going to happen before it happens.. Not to take the blame out of the hands of our horrible relievers but doesn't AJ have influence on our relievers and could his ability to call games be slightly diminished or Has Cooper been calling some of the errant pitches.. MacDougal has lousy mechanics and looked like the scarecrow from theWizard of Oz totally devoid of any muscles or bones.. Aardsma who looked to much like Koch and tried to pitch like him. The staff now is not well managed and may not be the savior that we once thought he is. Something is wrong! The team is in a tailspin with no upper management personell getting in trouble. On the positive side we did get our 3 runs today!!!
SoxAce
I'd rather have Aardsma and MMac back up to work their way back to top form then these rejects. IMO, we are better off with them anyway and seeing what they got for us in the future. They are our future... hopefully. Sisco can stay down. He needs work altogether.I believe Aardsma and MMac are better for us than Bukvich and Prinz.

Lol, I don't know about you, but watching them two throw 3 straight balls to all the batters they see was getting under my skin like never before. Then again I didn't see Bukvich today so maybe he did that too.

Then again I didn't see Bukvich today so maybe he did that too. All he did was give A-Rod a cookie and just granny it up alittle. At least Aardsma was K'ing people (esp K/9 IP) and getting out of big jams this season regardless. I think too many people gave up on him too quickly. MMac was obviously not right but his past history shows us that he's better than this. What other options do we have? IMO they are the future of our bullpen. It's not like they were giving up cookies to the plate. What the hell have Prinz and Bukvich done in their careers in the bigs? One had one fluke season and the other walks the world. I know it's still early to judge the two guys and I'm sure they might get a 1-2-3 inning sometime, but you know they won't hang with the big boys. At the very least let some good arms work through their s***. Masset is still up here and he should be in AAA. He is actually worse than both Aardsma and MMac. The name Vazquez is really supposed to be spelt with a "z" before the "q", thanks to the great Javy Vazquez.

Dick Allen
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) any word on how mac or sisco is doing down in AAA Who cares. If they can't throw a strike at USCF, I couldn't care less if the strike everyone out in AAA.

quickman
We have no one to go to. Not one pitcher in the minors can play in the majors. its a horrible mess.

Aardsma was striking people out and getting out of big jams early in the season then after the Cubs series he would be 3-0, 3-1 to every batter then walk them or give up a hit. Same with Mac, he really has some sick movement, but he could not locate his pitches AT ALL. They should put him on the DL. Maybe that little injury made him alter his delivery slightly or something so his control is out of wack. I see your point that these are the two guys important to our future, but they need to be able to throw strikes.
