Hawk & DJ's Demeanor On-Air

Wow, I'm sitting here listening to them and it's interesting to hear how distressed they sound.

Hawk tends to get more of an angry tone where DJ just sounds resigned.

Hawk did start to talk about how our offensive woes are due to injuries (Pods, Erstad, etc.) which of course was crap. But they both sound like they want to bust out and say what they REALLY feel.

Ya know, it's gotta suck having that job when you have to call stillborn games like, well, pretty much almost every one this month.

Man, 2nd half last year was rough--watching it--but this is just painful. I suspect as the losses continue to pile up Hawk and DJ will get a little less bashful about saying what they think is wrong.

Point being: Hawk will slip and stop being Company Man and say something like: "Goddammit Konerko earn your money!"

;)

I'm down for DJ singing "Billy, Don't Be a Hero" like he did in that one game when he was bored out of his mind.

Maybe Hawk will resign the season in protest and we'll get Black Jack and DJ up there, both drunk--now THAT I would podcast!

the darkness has came and went. this time last week, Hawk was basically insane on air. now, they've just given up on the season and pretty much spend the entire time talking about their past. that's white sox broadcasting for you.

I hope we get Pods and Erstad back pretty soon. Crede is about 2 or 3 months out . And our pitching? well they are leaking fuel cans when they come in to pitch.

Crede will not return this year, I believe. Why chance it with a rehabbing back problem when the team is 15 games out?

I find it weird that Thome hasn't PH'd once these last two games.

I remember watching many, many crappy Sox teams, including some that lost in the 100-game range in the late 60s.

But I can't remember one as disinterested, lifeless and void of talent as this one.

This is flat-out dismal and discouraging.

this season feels a little like 2001, after winning the division and having higher hopes.

He was on deck in the 9th last night but Terrero ended the game before he could get to the plate and there was no sense in using him in a blowout today.

Yup. Bring him in today with nobody on and he takes a big cut and hurts himself again. Wouldn't be worth it.

And I assume he is starting tomorrow afternoon.

don't listen and don't watch. its easier than you think.

i'm back like mj. that's sounds really hard to do. what if you miss the game where the white sox offense finally breaks out for 10+ runs?

I almost wonder if Ozzie is using the opportunity to rest a injury recurrance of Thome's...

I'll have to disagree with the bolded part. This team has tons of talent. That's part of what makes it so frustrating.

Everything else, though, I have to agree.

Even if this team were playing to its potential! (whatever the hell that means), it'd still be a one-dimensional team because we have so many slow guys so we can't put on hit-and-runs and we can't steal bases and we can't stretch singles into doubles or hit too many doubles and we need a homer or an extra base-hit + an outfielder to fall down to score runs.
