I didn't see this posted yet, but if it was, feel free to delete/merge this thread. MacDougal was recalled from AAA and Prinz DFA'ed. I heard it on 670 the score. Also, appearently Prinz couldn't get ready for the game on Wednesday and I guess that didn't go over to well with Ozzie.

Good, I'd much rather have MacDougal working through his problems at the major league level than at Charlotte. Hopefully he can finish up the year strong and solidify himself a spot in the '08 pen.

Prinz was absolute garbage.

Just in case for any people who don't believe me and need a link...

White Sox recalled RHP Mike MacDougal from Triple-A Charlotte.

Four scoreless innings in the minors was all it took for the White Sox to give MacDougal another chance. He could quickly return to a setup role if he's successful.

Tallest midget, etc.

Yep, guess the grass wasn't greener on the other side.

I'm still surprised that he took such a dive from '06 to '07. Hopefully he's figured it out.

You knew this would happen-it was a "message' thing probably that had "lightning in the bottle" possibilities that never happened. Put the major league arms back on the team.

I too believe it was a "message" being sent. Hopefully Mac and Aardsma got it. It sure doesn't look like Sisco has

MacDougal was recalled 11 days after he had been demoted because of his 7.13 ERA in 27 relief appearances, mostly in a setup role. MacDougal arrived three hours before the game wearing a Charlotte Knights polo shirt.

At the suggestion of Charlotte pitching coach Juan Nieves, MacDougal said he picked up his tempo and tried to keep his head up and toward the target to calm his violent delivery.

"Maybe a little change was good," said MacDougal, who acknowledged he was somewhat shocked by the demotion.

Based on the numbers he had for us last season in around 25 games, has there honestly been a bigger disappointment in numbers than Mike MacDougal this season? You could make a good argument and say no to be frank.

No pitcher certainly, although Konerko and Dye have been very disappointing as well. Mac pitched well in 2005, too, and in fact has never pitched as badly as he has this season. It was a big blow to the bullpen. But, there's no point in keeping him at AAA. His past numbers suggest he has more potential to turn things around than someone like Prinz. They might as well have Mac pitche in the bigs.
