The base running has gone downhill since Tim Raines has left the coaches box

If Owens was picked off first by himself. No problem.

But first you have a guy picked off second by the catcher. So you should say to yourself, hey that guy has a cannon. Then you get picked off.

Awesome--on the MLB.tv feed, they accidentally cut into the commercial break and you could hear Hawk still complaining about Owen's move: "You gotta, you gotta know you're dealing with one of the greatest arms behind the plate. I mean, Jesus Christ. It doesn't take a--" then it cut off. How do you think he completed that sentence?

Oz says he wasn't doing his job, so he had to go.

Why is Walker still here again?

Oh right, we scored 10 runs tonight so that buys him about 3 days. When Pods and Grinderstad come back we'll average 11 runs per game!

....and if anyone says "Crede and/or Erstad wouldn't have gotten picked off by Olivo," they are correct because Crede and Grinderstad would not have been on base.

.....a rocket scientist like Erstad to figure that out. I was talking to Dick Williams about this, and he said that Al Kaline was a tremendous base runner. I remember sitting down with Yaz when we were talking about Catfish Hunter, and he told me that this was the greatest assembly of talent he's ever seen to struggle this long.

Everything is self-induced.

Word for word.
