Chisoxfn
FutureSox.com will be interviewing RHP Gavin Floyd of the Charlotte Knights. Floyd had been pitching very strongly as of late for the Charlotte Knights and could be the man the Sox turn to if Buehrle or another starter is dealt. Please post your questions here and I will do my best to get all of them answered by Gavin
santo=dorf
Why shouldn't people write you off just yet? The introduction of a recent article promoting the draft on the Phillies' official website read: "On Thursday, the Phils will try to restock their Minor League cupboard and seek their next Cole Hamels or Chase Utley. But for every star is a Gavin Floyd." Is it fair to compare you to Cole Hamels?
knightni
I'm surprised that you haven't rephrased your question to, "Why do you suck so much Gavin?", Pratt.
Soxbadger
My question would be: "How does it feel to be such a highly touted prospect and have fans and organizations who are unwilling to be patient and allow you a chance to develop? At 24 can you really be considered a bust?"
Soxbadger
(No point really) My questions are serious, so many people are quick to forget that at 18-25 people are still developing and maturing. Edited June 20, 2007 by Soxbadger
Balta1701
What pitches do you throw? How is that supposedly big sweeping curve ball feeling this year? Has the Sox organization tried to work with you on anything new? How is your fastball these days? At least once in the spring we saw you topping out around 96, can you keep that up for a game? Do you ever attempt to sacrifice velocity for control or vice-versa?
witesoxfan
How is your all around game coming around? -stuff -control -stamina What is your mindset going into every start? If you could compare your all-around game to a pitcher in the majors right now - with no need to be modest - who would that be and why?
BearSox
I read your comments from the offseason on how you felt the Phillies made you too mechanical instead of just letting you pitch. Being with the White Sox organization now, do you feel that has changed at all? Has your mechanics and/or approach on the mound changed at all? Of the Charlotte pitching staff, besides yourself, who do you think has the best stuff? What are some of the other players like down at Charlotte and who do you hang out with? How do you like it in Charlotte compared to some of your other minor league stops? ------- Also, great work on being able to set up an interview like this Jason! southsideirish71
With a new organization, you have an opportunity to rebuild and refresh your career. How do you learn from your experiences in Philadelphia, and use them to make you a stronger competitor. Who was your greatest influence in baseball? On the day you start, what do you do to prepare mentally and physically for your start. Do you have any superstitions or routines that you have used for a long time. Have you played out in your mind, your first game at US Cellular.

whitesoxfan101
What has been the key to your success in the dominant 4 starts you've had so far this June? (today was his 4th start this month) Pitching in an organization whose AAA and major league teams both play in notorious hitter friendly parks, does it make you concentrate harder on keeping all of your pitches down in the zone and getting ahead early in counts? With the White Sox struggling this year and rumors all over about the possibility of a "fire sale", does that motivate you any more than usual knowing there might be an opportunity to show what you can do at the highest level later this season if you continue to pitch well? What pitch do you consider your best pitch, what pitch do you consider your most important to be successful, and what pitch do you like to go to most when in a jam?
