If it helps Chicken Little from having an embellism, the reason you can have some confidence in Loaiza is A)He has dedicated himself to throwing and prepearing between starts, something he never did before, and B)He added a cut fastball to his repetoire, something he didn't have before. As opposed to Eldred, whose fluke year came from simply being healthy and using what made him successful in the past, Loaiza's success is due to a change in both his committment to being a good pitcher, and adding a new weapon to his pitch arsenal. I think the big question is after this season, when he'll be due to make a LOT more than the league minimum, will he maintain the level of preparation next year?

Esteban had a bad inning or two. It can happen. The offesne almost pulled him through it especially Jose Valentin who looks like he is "en fuego." Let's not panic just because ELo lost a game. He wasn't going to win his next 30 in a row.
