Gregory Pratt
Promoting his new animated film, Bee Movie, in the New York Daily News today, the usually family-friendly comic quipped, "Bees have the only perfect society on earth ... They have no crime, they have no drugs, they have no rape. A little rape, but it's not that bad." I don't get it. Is that about the size of the stinger? Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 07:59 AM) It's a joke. I had no idea. Guess that's why I referred to it as a joke and asked someone to explain why it's supposed to be funny, 'cause I don't get it. I mean, what the hell is bee rape? QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 08:01 AM) its kind of funny, but its wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvVORX64D8o Definitely a little crime in there Haha, I get it now. It's funny. Saw this, too. http://shandyletters.blogspot.com/2007/06/...htening-up.html

Kyyle23
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) I hate bees with an unequivocal passion. I dont. No bees, no fruit, no flowers, no pollination. They are pretty important in the grand scheme of things
FlaSoxxJim
Here comes Dorky Geekerstein. . . I don't know how appropriate a bee rape joke is when hyping a kids film so I'll reserve comment on that. As far as the statement itself, it is biologically true - there is some rape in the bee world. There are some 20,000 described species of bees and there are lots of different reproductive strategies, some of which involve forced mating. Yes. Now go back to the dark basement where the bees will rape you--you sick, twisted, humorless man. But seriously, what comedian hasn't dropped a lame joke here and there? There's only one comedian in the world whose never actually written a good, intelligent joke. And that man is Will Ferrel.
Middle Buffalo
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 05:47 AM) I don't get it. Is that about the size of the stinger? It's about the motion in the ocean, and as Bobbee Knight once quipped, "If bee rape is inevitable, just lay back and enjoy it."
Gregory Pratt
The Governor of Texas said that once, if I recall correctly.
