fathom
Erstad didn't have your typical twisted ankle. This is the type of ligament injury where you're going to keep on straining it. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 12:08 AM) That was one heckuva catch at least. You are all right. He should have been a fourth outfielder. He'd have been better in that role than Mack, who also can't hit. That was one great catch, though. Nice grab Mr. Erstad, good hustle on the play as well. That catch is going to become legendary, I have a feeling.

Is it just me or did he take a pretty inordinate route to that ball? I have no idea why he rounded off his route but the straight line to the ball seems a bit more efficient to me. DBAHO
I suppose it could be worse; Darin Erstad was sent for an MRI after aggravating his ankle during Friday's game. Manager Ozzie Guillen said he was told by trainer Herm Schneider there was no discoloration or inflammation in the ankle. The results of the MRI are expected Saturday. A second DL stint is a possibility.

You might be right, but I watched the replay closely and it looked to me like after he initially moved back like a lot of outfielders do when balls are slugged their way, he took the correct route to the ball. It was a pretty good catch I thought. Not that I think he should be a member of the Sox, but I thought it was a nice grab.

StrangeSox
I guess we don't have to worry about him reaching that magical number of at-bats in his contract anymore..
BearSox
anderson left today's game early in Charlotte... Prediction: Erstad got DL'ed, and Anderson got called up.... nah, that'd never happen.
Heads22
Anderson was hurt again.
BearSox
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) Anderson was hurt again. figured... the ghost of Erstad lives in Anderson. They both get injured at around the same time, and they both come back at around the same time...
quickman
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) That's why he would have been the perfect 4th outfielder. Of course, our horrible manager thought it would be a good idea to play him 90 pct of the time. actually if brian anderson was anything of a ballplayer Erstad would have been a fourth outfielder. But anderson sucks so thats why we were stuck with erstad. WHarris1
Ya, he took a f***ing horrendous route to that ball. Good catch, I think not.
Guest
Just hand this guy the pink slip already. the Hawk acted like Erstad was the next coming. I'm gald I don't have to have to hear Hawk give him the free pass anymore. The guy is injury prone. And just like Mackowiak, he shouldn't be playing in the outfield.
