winninguglyin83
Sox have put Erstad back on the DL. Which means he was on the DL, played half an inning and now is out for at least another 15 days. And the word is that Dye was almost put on the DL because of problems with his right Quad. He probably won't play for three or four days. Andy Gonzalez in RF today. Who says it can't get worse? fathom
At this point, you have to DL Dye. Only the Sox could have a situation where they don't DL someone because the other person is more injured.
winninguglyin83
Rather see Sweeney get those at bats and time in RF than Gonzalez. Why not find out if Sweeney can do anything at all? it's truly hard to believe how grim this is. If the Rangers, Reds and Royals all win today, and the Sox lose, the Sox will have the fewest wins of any big-league team. Astounding. Cerbaho-WG
I hope it gets to the point where we start purchasing outfielder's contracts from low A ball. Because that would be awesome.
winninguglyin83
Starting outfield today: Pods in LF Terrero in CF Gonzalez in RF. I feel sorry for Rich Hill.
JDsDirtySox
The Sox are trying desperately to add a corner OF to this team. I know Jacque Jones name has been brought up, but don't be surprised if this team does add him or a different bat by the end of the day Sunday. fathom
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) Lets hope it's not Jacque Jones. In all honesty, I'll be fine if it is him, as long as we don't give up anyone of significance.
29thandPoplar
The question is, would Jones fit into the 2008 plans? Maybe. Whoever they get it is almost assured it's someone they want in the 2008 lineup. Yes I would agree ... you don't want to give up much (if anything) for a guy like this.
winninguglyin83
and you want the Cubs to pay most of his salary. He's making $5 million next season.

WCSox
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) At this point, you have to DL Dye. Perhaps not if you're trying to deal him. Better to downplay in the injury, IMO.
winninguglyin83
too late to downplay it. Ozzie was talking it up before the game. Said that if Erstad didn't go on the DL, that Jermaine would.

Shamrock4Life
i think they are keeping dye off the dl to be able to trade him. i don't know how i feel about a jones trade. he isn't going to help us get anywhere but the cubs are looking to deal him so might be able to get him really cheaply and he could be a stop gab for the rest of this year and next year if none of our prospects feel like stepping up before then. WSoxMatt
Just put Dye on the DL, bite the bullett and bring Anderson back
