wilmot825
So everyone is putting in their two cents on how to fix the White Sox, and the common theme is for a trade for some big names. Although that is a solution and can help for next season it truly does not fix the problem at hand. So after the game today I was walking to the car with my dad and we had a long talk about this. My idea is as simple and about ten times less expensive than everyone elses, so here it goes. 1) Trade Dye 2) Trade Contreras 3) Trade Mackowiak 4) Sign Mark Buehrle 5) Bring Up Ryan Sweeney 6) Bring Up Either Gavin Floyd or Lance Broadway 7) This New Team Plays The Whole 2nd Half of The Season OFF-SEASON MOVES 1) Sign Rowand or Andruw Jones (Before I Had Crawford and Thanks to Pratt I See He Is not a Free Agent) 2) Address The Bullpen 3) DO NOT Fire Ozzie Yes I know it is easy to write this down on paper and say it works and sounds great. But what we know for sure is that the Starting Rotation is as solid as marble. After that, this team shakes more than fat kid who is having a cookie withdrawl. Thank you for reading my idea for these White Sox that I adore so much. The White Sox of '08 will return to glory...I Promise Edited June 24, 2007 by wilmot825
Gregory Pratt
Crawford's not a free agent. That's the only thing that stood out. Oh, and Broadway? No! PS: leave Michael J. Fox alone. He's a great guy.
SoxFan1
Kind of hard to judge when we don't know what we'd be getting in return for Dye, Contreras, and Mackowiak.
Heads22
Mack's great as a bench guy. If we can make him just that, that'd be awesome.
greg775
Not a bad essay. However, it would be nice to get a middle reliever NOW. Somebody, anybody. I agree not to panic and trade too many guys. Dye and Contreras would be good to deal. But Dye's health may scare off teams and Contreras is not exactly a stud anymore. He looks like he's about 10 years older than his listed age as well. However I agree, leave Mike Fox alone. I feel sorry for him.
Kalapse
I actually like the idea of signing Crawford in the offseason, I'm surprised no one else had come up with that until now. Seems like a good fit.

BearSox
oh yeah, someone who could get us a decent spect via trade is Pods. That is if he stays healthy for about two - four more weeks and does decent.
The Beast
To be honest, I could care less of what we get in our trades of certain players. I think that if we traded people and freed up some salary for this off-season, we could go through a makeover of the whole ball club and with the new scouting director, a new makeup of the whole organization. Here's what I'd want to do: Release Bukvich, Terrero. Pull the plug on Thornton. Trade MacDougal, Contreras, and Dye. Keep Buehrle and Iguchi. Let Erstad go. Sign Rowand. Sign Scott Linebrink. Rotation then is: Buehrle, Garland, Vazquez, Danks, Floyd Bullpen is: Jenks, Aardsma, Linebrink, Masset, Billingsley/Broxton (via Dye trade), Logan, Vazquez Lineup is: Pods Rowand Thome Konerko Pierzynski Crede Iguchi Sweeney Uribe Bench: Hall, Ozuna, Mackowiak, Fields Not much better, but hey, it's the best I've thought of so far. Why keep Billingsley in the bullpen and let Floyd start? I'd do the opposite. And Fields should be the starting 3B for the White Sox for the rest of this season and on. People won't be much in favor of keeping Podsednik either. Edited June 24, 2007 by SoxFan1
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:56 AM) Release Terrero. Nitpicking I guess, but what would be the point in this? At the very least he would be a very good bench player for us at the cost of basically nothing. I've seen some even calling him to start next year, but I'd think we need more that 65 atbats to base that on.

As well it should. If your goal was to completely devalue all minor league pitching stats by showing his numbers you have successfully done so!
