BearSox
Doesn't his contract have some sort of clause in it, like Hidiki Matsui had? I forget what it exactly is though, but if we didn't sign him to an extension, we would not be able to get compensation for him?
Kalapse
You can't offer him arbitration therefore you can not receive compensatory picks. Iguchi more than anyone else on this team needs to be dealt before the deadline.

Iguchi more than anyone else on this team needs to be dealt before the deadline. That he will be a free agent if we don't sign him by about Nov 15, that we can't recieve any draft pick compensation, that 2B is perhaps one of the easiest positions to fill lately making them all underpaid compared to their counterparts, and that there doesn't seem to be an in contention team in need of immediate help at 2B means Iguchi has little to no trade value. I don't know who needs that person...But I thought this thread was about Iguchi.
Kalapse
Iguchi is a terrible defensive 2B. His arm strength is all but gone and he has no range to speak of not to mention all the odd mental mistakes he seems to make out there.

One of those things that I don't even know how people can argue otherwise.
