Great job by the Bears giving their players the money and nice to see Vasher take less than what he could have gotten in the Free Agent market. Don't ya wish other players (cough cough 55) would do that?

Why should Briggs be expected to take a discount?

The Bears have offered him market value...he thought he was worth more. Briggs is entitled to get frustrated but the Bears haven't done anything wrong (and briggs is obviously entitled to his opinion as he always had shut up and play and now feels worthy of that major deal that enables him to be secure for the rest of his life).

Yeah I hear that

I was just asking why Briggs should take less money to stay with the Bears, directed from the post above up there..

I like Vasher a lot, I think this was a solid signing. It seems the Bears have been very smart about their salary cap signings, ie not signing guys who are impossible to cut in 2-3 years if it's necessary.

I think Vasher got a lot of respect last year, and I don't remember him getting burned for many big plays

I think Peanut is next. Tommie scares me though. Isn't his agent Rosenhaus? I think he has two years left on his contract, if that's the case, I can see the Bears waiting until next offseason to have more money available (going by $14 mil for Vashers signing bonus and assuming Tillman gets the same). But that might hurt the Bears. I don't know, man, I think Tommie Harris needs to be signed, but I'm not sure he won't want to try the open market.

Anyone else kinda worried we won't re-sign Peanut... I mean, speculation has been that we'd re-sign Tillman and let Vashar go b/c we wouldn't pay them both. Will we pay them both now? I think Vashar would have been more easily replaced, so I hope we don't let him go.
