Well, at least they got decent ratings for this morning. :huh Some things never change.

I still havent forgave them for the "Griffey trade" bs

if you're talking about the April Fools joke, yeah, that was ridiculous. Their credability would be zero if this doesn't happen

uh-oh, can't hear it at work, how are they packpedaling? Are they just saying "sources" or the sides are only talking?

The score may be backpedaling, but like I pointed out, the Sun-Times has gotten into the game and is calling it "Near" as well.

I really don't like the way Mulligan and Hanley are talking right now. They continue to repeat themselves saying it's not quite a done deal and that "sources" (ick) are telling them it's close/done. I could see KW dealing him away in the next few hours and totally killing this buzz the Score has sent through the fanbase.

I don't believe a source exists. I think they want their listeners to believe they are on top of the story, but who is breaking this ? Jesse Rogers ? Please.

4/$50M....? Apparently it's "let's get high before we go on the air day" at the Score. If Mark signs this deal, he's stupid. I would suspect the union would beat his ass as well.

That's exactly why I keep saying this is bulls***. I guess we'll see.

Unless his hand is broken, he can sign. Thank you Fox Sports for that breaking news. :rolleyes.

lol, well Steff, I'd get ready for a lot of quality lines like this in the next hour or so since outlets don't want to be out-scooped but also leave them wiggle room if this is all B.S.

This is certainly good news, but if the actual numbers are 4yrs/$50m I'll eat my hat. This simply can not be. It's a very optimistic scenario from a radio station that's filled with premature reports, just last week reporting that Scott Linebrink was involved in that Barrett trade.

I'd expect $6-8M would have to be tacked on to this to even make it realistic.

If this happens. wow. I mean what a sweat deal.

If the sox are still planning on trading him. The asking price for him just went through the roof.

i imagine if this deal is true, then MB and his agents put in either a strict no-trade clause or a ridiculously limited one, ie the Cardinals

True, but "off the trading block" is a quite specific statement and they're def. giving us that.

Both fathom and Crasnick from ESPN have heard that Buehrle is not off the market. So I think right now, nothing has changed. The media stories could still just be a move to drive up Buehrle's trade value.

Can anyone get to it?

it's probably the report that other GMs have told their scouts to keep scouting the Sox and ignore the extension talk. A couple pages ago someone posted that, I think it was ESPN reporters
