danman31
Charlotte lost 5-2 with 5 errors Richar with his 1st HR with the Knights (1-4, K) Owens 2-4, 2 K Haeger 8 IP, 5 R (1 ER), 10 K, 5 BB, 7 hits Russell and the Barons hosting Jacksonville Russell 6 IP, 5 R, 4 K, 3 BB, 7 hits (all 5 runs in the 1st, settled down nicely after) Warthogs won 4-1 D Rodriguez 6 IP, 1 R, 3 K, 2 BB, 5 hits Schnur 2-4, 2 R DLS dominates Greensboro in 5-4 win De Los Santos 8 IP, 2 R, 14 K, 0 BB, 3 hits (I'm bored enough to listen online and the announcers said his FB is hitting 93-94 consistently, 95 in the 8th on a pitch, and the curve at 82-83) Shelby solo shot and a double (2-4 with a K) Santeliz hit 95 a couple times (who knew?) but couldn't throw strikes and almost blew the game. Rote came in for an easy K and hit 94. The I's scored 3 runs on 2 2 out errors heh. Billings @ Great Falls Bristol suspended after 1 1/2 Po-Yu Lin gave up 2 hits, no runs, with a K in his only inning.

Flash Tizzle
I'll about guarantee the home run he surrendered was off a hanging breaking ball. Anyone have information about his pitch count? This performance should earn him some attention across baseball.
danman31
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) I'll about guarantee the home run he surrendered was off a hanging breaking ball. Anyone have information about his pitch count? This performance should earn him some attention across baseball. The HR was on a 3-1 count. I don't remember what the pitch was, but I'd be surprised if he used a curve with a 3-1 count. The hitter has 14 HR on the year so maybe they didn't want to groove a fastball, but DLS was using the curve as his K pitch. He threw 101 pitches which they said he was a new season high for him. He had 73 through 6 innings and 90 through 7.
BearSox
DLS belongs in Birmingham, or at the very least, Winston-Salem.
Jim Spencer
Man, Charlie Haeger is 3-
hitlesswonder
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) DLS belongs in Birmingham, or at the very least, Winston-Salem. I don't know anything, but I think they should move him to AA. BHAM's park is somewhat forgiving which might help lessen the jump. His arm only has so many pitches in it. There's no sense wasting them in low-A where there's nothing left for him to do.
Marky Mark
I love checking milb.com when Faustino pitches. Almost makes me forget about an atrocious loss to the Royals.
29thandPoplar
QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Man, Charlie Haeger is 3-11 He has not been able to command the knuckler this year, lots of K's but lots of walks too. Not to harp on the ongoing Anderson situation but another 0-4 last night, 2 K's, ave. at .239 .
29thandPoplar
For anyone interested, check out the Great Falls box, a wild one - http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...81&sid=t581 One guy on Great Falls is Estill, the CF kid they took in this draft and must have signed, check out his line, 0 for 4 and four strikeouts, but he also had 3 walks. Sounds like he might be having a problem with his swing. Or maybe he doesn't swing the bat at all!
Heads22
QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 10:02 AM) He has not been able to command the knuckler this year, lots of K's but lots of walks too. Not to harp on the ongoing Anderson situation but another 0-4 last night, 2 K's, ave. at .239 . Over/under on days til he is traded? John Ely made his debut with a perfect, 2 K inning, in relief. 29thandPoplar
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Over/under on days til he is traded? Heads22, Anderson has some rotator cuff tendonitis in his throwing shoulder. I wonder if this will make him non tradeable for this year. Tough to say. whitesoxfan101
Rotator Cuff tendinitis? Yikes, they better be real careful with that or surgery may end up being needed.

Winston-Salem at the least, maybe we should push McCullough to B-ham and get Gio up to AAA.
