KW Speaks about Buehrle's NTC

Recommended Posts

The Mark Buehrle watch continues, but negotiations at least appear to be civil.

"There's no animosity here," agent Jeff Berry said Tuesday, four days after the White Sox rejected a full no-trade proposal for his client.

Berry offered no other details, other than adding the Sox "have to make a decision where their organization goes."

General manager Ken Williams is expected to remain in Chicago before heading to San Francisco to watch the Futures Game on Sunday.

The no-trade issue is a stumbling block after sources confirmed both sides are comfortable with a four-year, $56 million contract.

Scouts from Philadelphia and Los Angeles attended Tuesday's game.

It seems like both Berry and KW want the other to make the next move. KW stated on monday that he has yet to hear back from Berry regarding Buerhle's contract. The thing that bugs me is, if the money was agreed on what can possibly change for both parties to agree on a deal? Like KW can offer a NTC until the final year of his deal and to a minimum amount of teams of his choice? KW better make the phone call and get it done.

Just another day of public relations spin. Buehrle and his agent have made themselves look great in this, and now they're putting all the pressure on the Sox to either cave in and give the NTC, or they'll look absolutely horrible in the Chicago media and to the fans.

What do you make of Philly scouts at the game? Who do you think they are looking at?

I dont' think Reinsdorf and Williams care how they look in the media or what the fans think.

No clue...all I know is that they have very little in terms of prospects.

Excellent, just the kind of players the Sox like to stock their system with!

We'll just take Cole Hamels off their hands. ;)

No way... Dude has a 3.87 era. In the AL, that's at least a 6.

Carrasco's still a hell of a prospect. Not that they'd give him up, just saying, he's there if they're there at the deadline.

If this really is a stare-down contest between KW and MB, let it be said that no one is more stubborn than Kenny.

And if you HAVE to trade MB, send him to LA for Kemp and Betemit.
