Kalapse
They should just shut him down for the rest of the season so he's at 100% come Opening Day of 2008 since you just know they'll be bringing him back for another go of it again next year. Wedge
Since Pods's return, we have played the Cubs, the D-Rays, and the Royals. While the 5-3 mark in games he's played since returning is nice, perhaps the cailber of the opposition should be considered?

Argh it must be nice to have a healthy leadoff hitter on your team!! When Pods and Erstad are healthy and are playing, we get a 1-2 punch. However, in other chicago baseball news, when Prior and Wood are healthy they are also pretty good. We cannot rely on starters that are fragile. Knowing KW and his manlove for the guy, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he brings him back. He's the kind of guy you build a champion around will be KW's reason for re-signing him. I really despise KW.

Al Lopez's Ghost
Pods is the Iron Horse of White Sox baseball. This latest injury stopped his consecutive game streak just shy of Cal Ripken's.
Chisoxfn
I want Pods to have a healthy 2-3 week stretch before the deadline because I actually think he could get the Sox a quality lower level prospect that could turn into a valuable commodity 2-3 years down the road. Same for Erstad. And if you think I'm crazy, I'm just going to point out that both of these guys would be valuable bench players at the very least to a team that is in contention. I will say the same about Mack.

Kalapse
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) The over under on PAs before Podsednik's inevitable return to the DL is 39.5. I'm assuming Podsednik will hit the DL sometime in the next 48 hours, just a hunch. So for anyone who played the over, tough luck. Pods only made it 38 PAs. LVSoxFan
I like Pods and don't have the contempt for him that some people here do. That said, after last year, if there was one '05 guy I couldn't wait to get rid of, it was... Pods. I thought he was worthless, particularly at the plate. I still will always love him for what he did for us in '05 and his walk-off, but the fact is he is the Mark Prior of our team: a china doll, always breaking. We can't have that. All the ability in the world means nothing when you're parked on the DL most of the season. Time to cut our losses with him. He has a wonderful career ahead of him as a media figure I'm sure. It's Sweeney time people.
Chisoxfn
Do people just ignore the fact that Pods was at least the only person willing to call out the squad (when he first came back off the DL about 10 days ago). Say what you want about his injuries and the fact that by some he's over-rated (however, by most here, he's vastly under-rated) but at least he provides a positive attitude and plays his ass off everytime he's on the field. LVSoxFan
No argument here with that at all and you're exactly right. However, being on the DL negates all that, dontcha think? Time after time?

Just cause I don't know him doesn't mean I can't form an opinion about him based on some of the decisions he makes and things he does. I never said I hate everything K has ever done. Now you are putting words in my mouth which I really don't appreciate. But I will answer your question. John Schuerholz Terry Ryan Dave Dombrowski Walt Jocketty Bob Melvin Omar Minaya Theo Epstein Mark Shapiro Billy Beane Now I am sure I will get the argument from you that most of then have never won a World series, but in my opinion they are better overall GM's. Um...sorry to inform you, but winning the World Series does make Kenny a great GM. Ask Billy Beane. What have Omar Minaya or Doug Melvin (who is so good, you didn't know his name) done better than Kenny? NOTHING. You are too biased to see straight.
