Ah, so ignore his actual performance and stats whatsoever, and consider his velocity drop and an injury that happened years ago, and THAT makes him ineffective.

What am I ignoring concerning his performance? Or supposed ineffectiveness? Super. His BAA and WHIP based upon 30 innings is the best in his career. They were good over 40 innings last season prior to the All-Star break, too.

I'm suggesting you can assume his statistics hold up over the next several years, at the risk a drop in velocity is suggestive of possible arm troubles, or hold onto Jenks for a team that won't compete for several seasons.

What a tough game to lose. Just when you think this team might be turning it around they come up with this. We desperatly need bullpen help. Leading 6-2 in the bottom of the 8th, with 2 out, and can't seal the deal. Damn!!! You score 6 runs in a game, you need to win that game no matter what. Damn!!

Aren't you the one who wanted him to come in for a tie game earlier this year and blamed Guillen for not doing it?

You are tough to follow. Yesterday you wanted the Sox to give Buehrle the no trade, today you say it doesn't matter, that you don't care and maybe they'll be a better team without him.

You bring him in when it's between him and Aardsma with a great fastball hitter up with the bases loaded. He's the best we have in that situation....as sad as that is. Much like DAllen, I'm worried that a 93 mph Jenks just won't cut it over the course of the year. And as for Buehrle, I want them to give him the NTC because I really think that hardly ever comes into play. However, reading KW today say that he can't do it because of future free agents/extensions, I understand where he's coming from. I'm of the belief that no matter what they do with Buehrle, they're going to suck the next two years. If they re-sign him, that's great. The fans will be happy and we won't have to hear idiots claiming they should boycott. If they don't sign him, then I'll get excited about the prospects we get in return and the available money we'll have this offseason.

I'll be there, and will be giving Mark a standing O tonight! For anyone that is going to the game we need to get a resign Buehrle chant going like there was for Paulie during the parade!!!

Me too. I wonder if the guys here on soxtalk started it like they said they were going to.

I was there last night, and got 7 or 8 guys around me to help start the chant, and before you know it, you could hear it thoughout the entire park, I was proud of myself. :P

But as for the game... WOW, that was the hardest call to the bullpen ever. Right when Ozzie came out, you had some fans booing because they wanted Mark to stay in or they didn't want the pen to come in, but most of the crowd was on there feet the second Ozzie came out. And what an ovation Buehrle got, Kenny and/ or Jerry would be STUPID to let him go, the fans love him, he's a great guy, and one hell of a pitcher. As he was coming off the field, the song that was playing was There goes my hero. For people that were watching it on TV (I recorded the game, but havent watched it yet) what were Hawk and DJ saying? Did they stay at the park for the ovation?

If that was the last game that Buehrle is ever going to pitch in a White Sox uniform, I am glad I was there.
