The Ginger Kid
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) They should have IBB Hunter and Kubel and pitch to Garza what a great point!

Guest
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> STFU. It's his first friggin start. Oh wait, you can determine a guy's career in a White Sox uniform in three innings. Never mind. thanks for setting a classy example for the rest to follow... 29thandPoplar
QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...this team is embarassingly bad. Yes. If you are going to get your rear end kicked, at least make it uncomfortable for the opposing hitters. I am not talking about drilling guys but make them move their freaking feet. You gave up 20 runs in the first game and now another 5 thus far, show some stones.
Soxfest
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) Prized acquisition and Williams man-crush Gavin Floyd proving Philadelphia just hasn't left him. This is just sad. I'm sorry. He doesn't look anywhere near major league ready. There is a reason Philly Fans did carrtwheels when he was dealt and laughed at KW! Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) Gavin, you're throwin some meat up there. Is this what we're teaching our minor league pitchers? You wonder how he ever succeeded with a delicious display of hanging breaking balls and fat fastballs. Williams better find quite the haul for any people traded before the deadline. I'm back to expecting a huge return, and I don't care who's traded. Surely we have a pitcher of Garza's calibur in our system, right?

Brian
Maybe Gavin thought he was pitching against the Columbus Clippers tonight. Doesn't seem to matter who we put on the mound. Everyone is getting owned.

kwolf68
QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 09:09 PM) Yes. If you are going to get your rear end kicked, at least make it uncomfortable for the opposing hitters. I am not talking about drilling guys but make them move their freaking feet. You gave up 20 runs in the first game and now another 5 thus far, show some stones. Agree. I don't think this team is showing any toughness or heart anymore. I agree, don't head hunt, but you have to go make a statement. Floyd is showcasing a mid-90s fastball and does have a nice curve, yet looks completely overmatched. This is just terrible. Guest
just give Buehrle the NTC already. I haven't seen anything from Gavin's past or today that shows he has what it takes to be an average pitcher let alone enough to fill Buehrle's shoes. Gio should not be in AA. maybe he should be the one out there on the mound right now.
Heads22
QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) thanks for setting a classy example for the rest to follow... I was probably overboard with the STFU, but still, it's people that keep on saying, every single time, that the deal we made is a bust, Gavin Floyd is a bust, that he'll never, ever be good when he's still 24. 29thandPoplar
Let's see if Floyd mans up in the rest of his outing tonight. Pitch aggressively, pitch inside, etc. It may sound strange but it is clear he's got a good arm. Personally I am really unhappy with the pitch calling. Not to absolve him of blame but they have not established inside.

kwolf68
Just remember folks...Walter Payton's very first game he rushed for -9 yards (I think). So first performances are not always an indicator of future success.
