I disagree. We do both at every Yankees game and I think it's a nice tribute, especially considering what is still going on in the world. It only takes an extra minute and they still do Take Me Out to the Ballgame right after.

It's not our national anthem, why show it the same respect? If they play "Courtesy of the USA" or "Born in the USA" would you stand for it?

Does baseball think they don't have any atheist, agnostic, or other non-God worshiping religions fans?

That is actually a good point. I don't like the song itself, but I like what they're trying to do with it.

If there was some better song than God Bless America, I guess I'd prefer that as an alternative.

He's walked a grand total of 49 times in his career which has led to an IsoD (OBP-AVG) of 27 which is absolutely terrible. His power has actually disappeared altogether this season, he only has 5 HRs and his doubles (according to MLB.com) have mainly been ground balls down the lines, not a lot of drives deep into the gaps.

So he doesn't walk, doesn't hit for much power, gives you a nice average, plays poor defense and has average speed. I'd rather just find a poor defensive, semi-athletic LF and stick him at 2B. He'd be cheaper to acquire and could give you similar production.

Like Greene, Cano's road splits interest me. .333 .361 .510 .871

so he wont bat 1st or 2nd in your line-up.... he hit 342 last year.... with an 890 OPS (15 HR's) in just 122 games. While I agree that Cano isn't a very well rounded player (i would argue the opposite) I think that this is a player who is going to develop more power and swings a heavy bat (whatever that means).

Considering we don't like players who actually make money Cano might be an interesting piece.

It is done every Sunday at all ballparks (do the Yanks do it for every game?) and I think its a nice thing to do once a week.

dead serious...

he shook hands with Danks and Garland...

they were sitting on the seats in front of the dugout...

he came up behind them, said something, and shook hands with both of them.

Hawk and DJ even acknowledged it by saying that the players were getting in their goodbyes because at the end of the game everyone runs out to go home like its a race.

I hope he was shaking hands in reference to getting a deal done.

:pray

Did you guys see Buehrle in the dugout shaking hands with the other guys?

Ya. It looked like a goodbye of some sorts. DJ indicated players get there goodbyes in but maybe something has happened or maybe Buehrle figures something will happen so he better get his good byes in now cause he won't be wearing a uni when the ASB ends.
