NBA star Antoine Walker was the victim of a robbery at his River North residence Monday evening, his Chicago-based agent Mark Bartelstein confirmed.

The masked robbers stole cash, jewelry and a vehicle about 6:30 p.m.

It was the second time Walker has been the victim of a robbery. He was robbed of a $50,000 watch at gunpoint while sitting in a car on the South Side during the summer of 2000.

Chicago resident Antoine Walker, who played for Mount Carmel High School, is a forward for the Miami Heat.

''He's shook up,'' Bartelstein said. ''Who wouldn't be?

''It's a horrible, horrible thing.''

Several people were seen standing outside the fenced townhouse on West Huron Street late Monday. A man who identified himself as Walker's manager said of the player, "He's too upset to talk. No comment."

Walker, 30, starred at Mount Carmel High School and currently is a forward for the Miami Heat.

He is often seen frequenting Chicago hot spots.

Last November, Walker's mother went to court to deny any direct association between her son and alleged ripoff artist Terry Faulkner, whose $150,000 Maybach luxury car once was owned by Walker. The car was seized by police as part of a six-month mortgage fraud investigation.

"Antoine used to own the car but he never met or ever had anything to do with Faulkner," said Diane Walker, who also managed her son's business affairs. "I handle all of Antoine's car deals."

Police News Affairs said an investigation was continuing.
