NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) I think Quantum of Solace was very well put together and I'm going to be buying the Blu Ray. I'm not one who minds that the storyline coincides with Casino Royale, nor do I mind that BA chase seen in the beginning of the movie. I'm really one who didn't like GoldenEye though. Heck, I think the only Bonds I could watch are with Daniel Craig. Casino Royale was a very good Bond movie, and a decent, fun action flick overall. I thought Quantum of Solace was a piece of crap masquerading as a Bourne entry.
Kyyle23
I just saw some neat screenshots from a new horror movie coming out called Splice, here is the description Splice revolves around two geneticists (played by Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley) who decide to throw ethics out the window and experiment with splicing together the genes of a human with that of animals. They illegally create a hybrid and try to hide her from the world. some neat pics here http://screenrant.com/finally-update-splice-images-vic-5742/ edit: dont know why I used the word "neat" twice Edited February 26, 2009 by kyyle23

Did you see Pan's Labirynth? Twisted indeed. I think his first big US film was Mimic, right? Considering that he had to work with a patently absurd and laughable premise, and a horrible script (especially the ending), I was impressed at how effective he managed to be with presenting the creatures as strangely believable. I loved Pans Labrynth. I found myself watching it on HBO-L the other day with no subtitles and I didnt even care, and I dont even understand spanish. Not even a little bit. I really loved both Hellboy movies as well
Brian
On Thursdays, I work split shifts, 4:30am-10am than 5pm-10pm. When I get home after my first shift, I usually put in a movie and take a nap. Today, I chose something I hadn't watched in a LONG time. SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. I didn't get to take my nap. But seriously, Coraline is the only movie playing that I kinda want to see but I haven't had the chance to see it yet. I thought Tim Burton was connected to that movie, but after researching it, it appears that he isn't. Either way, this movie really smacks of Tim Burton. And honestly, Tim Burton and his pictures creep me the f*** out and give me an uneasy feeling.

Apparently, the director also directed The Nightmare Before Christmas, which I had always thought Burton directed, but he just wrote and produced it. LosMediasBlancas
Watched 'Two Lovers' with Joaquin Phoenix and Gwenyth Paltrow. Good film that stays with you. I'm wondering if he makes the right choice in the end. Makes for great discussions afterward.

caulfield12
I watched Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman. Too funny. Saw Zack & Miri Make a Porno and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. The second one reminded me of High Fidelity, but not nearly as good...more of a 15-25 year old audience for that movie, although good soundtrack. I'm really starting to like Elizabeth Banks. Jason Mewes was strange to watch in that one too, after seeing his normal Jay/Silent Bob routine. Seth Rogen should ride his moment in the limelight and milk it for all it's worth for as long as he can, lol. I do like him more than say, John C. Reilly, as a leading man...but still prefer him as a supporting actor. I guess Knocked Up had its moments as well, but I was never convinced SuperBad was the greatest teen movie in the history of the world. I'm not even convinced SuperBad is much better than Can't Hardly Wait.

caulfield12
Well, the inevitable happened...just as Freida Pinto broke up with her fiance, Megan Fox finally dropped poor Brian Austin-Green of 90210 fame. If he had managed to marry her about 2 years ago, he would be set, with all those potential earnings from the Transformers series. It's like the Reese Witherspoon/Ryan Philippe or Jennifer Garner/Scott Foley thing...the law that stars should be very close in "prestige/power" or one will have to leave the other. I dont think BAG was counting on Megan Fox to be his cash cow. And the same for Foley and Phillippe. caulfield12
The question, I guess, is "how much is plenty?" and whether they saved any or all of it. Rumor is China's Zhang Ziyi never dates a guy with less than a billion dollars, lol. I would think B.A.G. might have the best situation of the three, with the seemingly two decade long residuals from 90210 episodes. I guess it's rough for the former gang, Jason Priestly and Luke Perry have pretty much stalled out in their careers, and Ian Ziering was dumped by his Playmate wife. Who would have thought ten years ago the most successful member of that show would turn out to be Hilary Swank?
