The problem with The Truth About Cats and Dogs is that Janeane G. is very cute and so her insecurities, as well as her "you're not just a dumb b**** -- you're an ugly b****!" encounters are completely unrealistic, therefore destroying the whole film

Wow....I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe Janeane Garofalo as very cute. To each his own.

Not too sure if I like it.

This is a tough one. I dont know if the Wachowski brothers will be able to simultaneously please the older crowd that grew up on this television show and also attract the younger audience that they need to make this movie a success.

edit: For some reason I liked it a little better the second time I watched it. Maybe I was just a little caught off guard by the approach to the movie.

I agree, she was cute, but that film is probably 10 years old. This is what she looked like the last time I saw her:

Just got back from The Golden Compass (I see about a movie a week at minimum, so there really wasn't much else to see). Wasn't bad. Along the same lines as the Chronicles of Narnia, but I liked it more probably because it wasn't as long. I guess this movie will be another trilogy or something.

Supposedly it could be if things work out at the box office. It might be interesting to see how they could possibly do that though. IIRC from what I've read about that film, the books were originally strongly anti-religious, and IIRC anti-christian, but they tried hard to edit those parts out of the movie to try to keep from pissing off the religious folk. But the 3rd one I think literally takes place in Hell and God is revealed to be a fraud in that one. That's some hard editing work.

I'm really looking forward to seeing I am Legend on Friday.

Not that I have a choice in the matter, because I rarely have the time to actually go to a theatre, but I would rather wait for a rental on I am Legend. Will Smith's characters usually bother me when i watch his movies, he doesnt usually change it up too much, they are all the same guy.

The movie looks cool, and I will certainly watch it though. I just wouldnt make it a point to go see it (except for the Dark Knight preview ;) )
