bmags
the early dialogue in juno turned me off initially. The movie got better in the second half when the screenwriter toned down the ridiculous references.

Brian
QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 30, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Edward Burns and Margaret Cho don't help it. I like Edward Burns. If you got a voicemail of yourself from the future telling you the exact time, place, and how you are going to die, unless it is natural causes, wouldn't you avoid that situation you were told? Maybe I'm too smart.

sox4lifeinPA
QUOTE(shipps @ Dec 31, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) I have been wanting to see it because Iam a fan of The Frames and I heard alot of their last album was in that movie. I think what makes it so great is that the "guy" and the "girl" aren't professional actors and 99.9% of the shots are handheld, so you feel more like you're watching snippets of two people's lives if you were just passing by them. It's very refreshing and natural. (turns out that Glen and Mara are great friends in real life before they made this movie...and you can tell.) easily a 5 out of 5 for me. SoxFan1
QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 31, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) Harold and Kumar 2. New Title and trailer Initially I thought it was going to be involving them chasing the chick in Amsterdam, but this looks surprisingly good as well. Loved the Bush/Terrorizers line. The Critic
Saw The Simpsons Movie yesterday. A little weird, but OK. Not a laugh riot, but enough laughs to keep me there. Decent rental, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it at the theatre.
BigSqwert
QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 29, 2007 -> 07:25 PM) the early dialogue in juno turned me off initially. The movie got better in the second half when the screenwriter toned down the ridiculous references. I completely agree. I enjoyed the movie but the dialogue, although I enjoyed it, seemed unnaturally witty. Reminded me of the Gilmore Girls. Are there 15 and 16 year olds out there that really talk this way? Steve9347
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 08:58 AM) I completely agree. I enjoyed the movie but the dialogue, although I enjoyed it, seemed unnaturally witty. Reminded me of the Gilmore Girls. Are there 15 and 16 year olds out there that really talk this way? Though not believable, it was entertaining... I think what was so great was how unbelievably interesting the lingo and the way she delivered it was... it's what makes Juno special. I'm not sure the movie and the lingo of the film was meant to be compared to the real-world. It was an interesting story.

I saw it a couple of months ago and I loved it. The soundtrack is also amazing. Probably in my top three of films to come out this past year (along with Waitress and a tba 3rd title). Controlled Chaos
I really enjoyed Charlie Wilsons War. I went in knowing nothing abut the film or the man. It was very interesting, especially his quote at the end. Quote below “These things really happened. We changed the world, then we [blew] the end game.”
SoxFan562004
Saw Sweeney Todd last night, I loved it. It is extremely bloody, so if you're taking a friend who is squemish I would give them a heads up. I saw the revival on Broadway in 2006 with Pati LuPone and thought it was every bit as entertaining. They did a good job expanding the limitations from the stage. The cast was great. Bohnem-Carter (sp?) especially stood out, she was phenomenal.
