Just watched Starship Troopers on TV the other day for the first time in like 6 years.

It's a terrible movie, but I love it. What a great/bad flick.

So true. It really is a bad movie, but every time it's on, I end up watching it.

On a side note, I watched Shooter last night and I thought it was a pretty good movie. The ending seemed a bit rushed, but the action was great.

Oh, absolutely. I didn't even realize it was her at first... She needs to be in more movies.

Anyone else following the screen adaption of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road?" It's the 2007 pulitzer price winning novel about a father and son traveling across America in a post apocalyptic setting. And yes, he was the author of "No Country For Old Men."

Mark my words, more than five months before it's released, if most of the material from the novel is included in the film it will win best picture. There would have to be one HELL of a movie to defeat it. I'm really looking forward to it.

Saw the new Incredible Hulk movie last night. Was pretty good. Not as good as Iron Man but I enjoyed it more than the Ang Lee version.

Seeing it at midnight was interesting. The comic book nerds were out in full force. I think I witnessed the biggest nerdgasm in my life when Downey/Tony Stark made his cameo in the film. Good stuff.

Eugh.

I hope you washed the nerd spooge off in the bathroom before you ate your popcorn. ;)

Great book. Heart wrenching, but I couldn't put it down.

Wow, that's a hell of a cast they have for that film. Viggo, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Robert Duvall... the director is a relative nobody. Definitely looking forward to this one!

The Incredible Hulk was quite good, actually. I already knew about the RD Jr appearance, but man did some nerds cheer.

Taking the old man to see The Happening tomorrow (his choice). The reviews for it are, simply put, awful.

I saw You Don't Mess With The Zohan on Thursday. It's by far the worst Adam Sandler movie I've ever seen, although I never saw Going Overboard.

Don't get me wrong, I expected it to be bad, but I see almost every movie that comes out nowadays.

I actually chuckled a few times, but yes, it was not good.

I just thought that I'd save you from wasting your money and seeing The Happening.

People are dying because the PLANTS are angry at them. There's literally a scene with moving "angry" plants chasing Mark Wahlberg. It looks like they turned giant fans on and they are all rustling. Feel free to laugh at the absurdity of it all.

M. Knight is a one hit wonder. Only movie of his I liked was "UnBreakable". He is a cinematographer, not a director or writer.

Strange Wilderness was terrible. Not funny at all, aside from a few wildlife voiceovers. It was just annoying to watch the fat Jewish kid from Superbad attempt to pull off a southern accent, in addition to his co-start failing to say or do funny things. I honestly question the judgment of my friends, who claimed it was funny. They were obviously under the influence of something.

It's outlandish, sure, but I like the idea because it's one of those movies where there's no simple solution to the problem. Humanity is screwed. Of course, when I read scenes such as the one you referenced above it doesn't give me much hope.

Yeah, I just got back from The Happening. I recently posted a spoiler in this thread about the movie, and it was dead on. Everything the guy said would happen, happened in the exact order he said. There was just about 5 minutes added to the very end, and that's the only difference.

Also, every single death in the movie is shown in the commercials. So, if you're going to it for the gore, just watch the preview for it. That's the extent of it.

Humanity isn't screwed. The extent of the "happening" is the northeast United States.
