RibbieRubarb
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) Wall-E is getting not just good, but downright spectacular reviews. I might have to go see that this weekend. I just got back from seeing WALL-E. Simply astounding!!! Pixar is not making animated films. They are making movies that are beautiful, funny, emotional and thoughtful. The kids in the audience were transfixed! The first part of the movie was like watching a Chaplin film and the kids loved it. No dialouge, just beeps and body language. No hip Zebras, Smart-ass Will Smith-fish or Neurotic Bees making cutsie pop culture references. Just simple, haunting and amazing. This is not just one of the best animated films in recent years, but one of the best FILMS...period. How serious is Pixar on making movies? They hired Roger Deakins, who is the cinematographer for the Coen Brothers, to be the Director of Photogrphay/Visual Consultant for WALL-E. I dare you not to want to hold someone's hand after this film. You'll see why. Edited June 28, 2008 by RibbieRubarb

ChWRoCk2
Saw Wanted last night. Some pretty awesome special effects its not great but I would recommend seeing it. Different type of movie and Angelina Jolie is damn hot in that movie.
The Critic
Took my daughter to see Wall-E yesterday. It was entertaining. Story was OK, visually pretty great for animation. The first half of the movie basically plays out like a silent film, which is kind of a welcome relief. It doesn't lose the kids, though, despite having no dialogue. It's a nice enough movie for kids. knightni
I went down to my local theater to see Wall-E tonight and was turned away. They sold out 10 minutes before a 6:30 show time ...on a Sunday. This movie's going to make $300 million easily.

NorthSideSox72
Saw Wall-E on Sunday. Terrific movie. 3.5 stars. Loved it. Saw Get Smart on Saturday. Liked it a lot, definitely lived up to the show in most facets. Silly, predictable, stupid and funny. Some inventive stuff too, but nothing groundbreaking. 3 stars, recommended. Kyyle23
I enjoyed Wall-E too. The underlying message of the movie was pretty strong. I loved the inclusion of Fred Willard, lol
StrangeSox
I watched Mystery Science Theater 3000's "Wild Wild World of Batwoman" (the actual movie's plot makes ZERO sense) over the weekend. My girlfriend and I had put it on our Netflix que, but we were worried that maybe MST3K wasn't as funny as we thought it was 10 years ago. I'm happy to say that the very first line had us both laughing out loud, and there were many more quality moments throughout the movie.
