My total bill would have been close to that as well.

That's the thing when you're in a group of 5 or 6 or so, and you're up buying rounds of Jaeger Bombs and pints etc. It really does just add up by the end of the night.

I'm back home for the next 3 weeks or so, and today I saw someone I went to high school with, and found out he goes to Iowa State. Since seeing him, I've just been wondering why the hell anyone would go there.

The only reason I can suspect is that he got a scholarship for playing hockey, because I know he's on the team, but still.. if you're from New Jersey (like I am), why would you go to Iowa State of all schools? I thought my going to Minnesota was strange enough, but wow.

My nephew went to Iowa State and did way more partying than studying until he lost his scholarship and had to pay for himself.

He eventually got his degree and a really good job, so once he applied himself the school turned out to be good for him.

We don't have intercollegiate hockey, so if he got a scholarship, that'd be interesting.

Yeah, a lot more drinking goes on here than people think.

Yeah, I did a little bit of searching, and doesn't seem likely that he did. So again, Iowa State?!

LOL. That first night I invented the world's greatest drinking game. I was watching the Sox game and drank on any pitch that wasn't a ball. Natty Lite even.

As far as ISU, some people just like the campus. Is he going into engineering?

Good lord, if I lived in Iowa, all I'd do is drink...

Sounds like you'd have to wait awhile to drink when they got to the bullpen. Also, real men would play that game with hard liquor... perhaps rum...

I'll have to try it out next baseball season :P

Nah, I think he said finance when I saw him.

If I lived in Iowa...I'd laugh point and laugh at Heads to his face instead of through Soxtalk.

Yeah, but then you'd get laughed at too because you're an Iowa fan.

I mean, really... Iowa? Go Gophers!

It f***ing sucks outside. I want to say about 5 inches of snow in 4 hours and not a damn plow yet.

It's warm as hell here. It was like 40 today and people were wearing their winter coats, while I'm walking around in a t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it and jeans.

It "feels like" -1 back in Minnesota, while it "feels like" 39 here in NJ. One of those two is cold, the other is warm. It's not hard to figure it out which is which, and I can't wait to be back in the midwest (which doesn't happen until January 12th, so I better get used to it :()

I know its just me being uneducated about global warming but after walking to my car with tears running down my eyes from the freezing wind this AM I just have to think people exagerate slightly about how critical we are at this stage in the history of earth.

Oh the weather up north is frightful

In Texas, it's so delightful

as long as I'm way down here

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
