Kid Gleason
HA!!! I'm only giving you sh*t because I can. I have actually laid off the beer BIGTIME and really don't experiment at all. Enjoy The Beast some day. Ya want to pay me back? Check out one of the bands I feature in my 'zine and buy their disc. I would recommend Willie Phoenix for you and his Quick N Dirty CD. He's a great guy, and his stuff rocks. www.williephoenix.com Tell him I sent you his way and he will be super cool to you. Oh, but you will have to say "Carl from Sonic Ruin", as he doesn't know me as Kid Gleason. Heh. Edited August 8, 2007 by Kid Gleason
sox4lifeinPA
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) Ah well, that's the only time I write checks (my above example). I never have checks in public. Landlord..but even then, I might billpay it. I even bill pay my tithing sometimes. Checks are ridiculous. I've seen some people who are on like check 11000. yes, that means they've written 10,000 checks in their lifetime.
The Critic
I love writing checks (and I'm still under 50!!! ). I love checks because the tedium of having to write the check out keeps my impulse spending in check (bad pun intended). If I had a check card, I'd have no time-consuming boring routine between me and the useless purchase. Checks are my friend!!! (But for all you eye-rollers out there, I prepare my check before I get to the register, so all I have to fill in is the amount. That takes about as long as swiping the check card, so LAY OFF!!!!!) Then when the cashier tells me I have to re-do it, I make sure to make a scene.
IlliniKrush
So there was a tornado in the Elgin area a bit ago. So I'm in the car on I-90, in Elgin, driving home. This guy comes on WGN Radio and says he just saw it in Elgin near Randall Road and I-90...about 3 miles behind me (next exit) and moving East, same direction I am. Yeah, not fun. You know the store is going to take your check, the date isn't going to change so the write the stuff out ahead of time and balance your damn book AFTER you leave the store. Heads22
Weird. Everyone writes checks here, especially at the grocery store. No one complains about it either. Jackasses.

SoxAce
My sister almost died yesterday in a car crash in the Dan Ryan (103rd on Stoney Island mark). She's alittle shook up, but ok nonetheless.

The 10/22 laws mean they can take money out of your account instantly, instead of when the bank is presented with the check.

Kid Gleason
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) I need a job so i figure i'd run it past my online family! Which place should i work at? Best Buy Circuit City Dicks Sporting Goods Or suggest something! Best Buy. My nephew has been on the Geek Squad for a few years, and just recently is the first time I've heard anything negative out of him about it. I hate Circuit City though. I'm also not much of a sports guy...so what the heck do I know about Dicks?
NorthSideSox72
I don't know what its like to work there, but, Dick's is an awful, awful store to shop at. I've been to multiple locations and they are constantly out of everything, their staff know little or nothing of the sport(s) they are selling equipment for, and they lack any serious outdoor gear. Best Buy, at the corporate level, tried the ROW model recently (Results Oriented Workplace), and they are known for experimenting with new methods. Seems like a progressive organization. So that might be a good place.
