Greg The Bull Luzinski
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) Two divisions per league and we don't have this problem. Two division winners with two wildcards is something I'd love to see. If there were two divisions this year, you'd have the Mets, Padres and D'Backs as locks and one helluva race between eight(ish) teams for the last WC spot. Or on that note, one division in each league, top four teams go to the playoffs. On problem might be a loss in merchandising from division champion shirts etc. But hell, MLB should be creative enough to get passed it.

fathom
So, I had to listen to the top of the 8th game. The Brewers should fire Ned Yost right now. How do you not bring in Cordero for a 4 out save in that situation? Instead, you bring in a guy who's been in the minors basically all year to face Pence. It was funny hearing all the swearing at Yost on the radio with the mic close to the crowd. Yost is by far the worst manager in baseball, and is a huge reason why that team has blown 15 three run leads this year.

santo=dorf
Look at the season Matt Stairs is having. How about him for LF and backup first baseman next year? Hey, look at the LF defense we dealt with over the past 4 years.
fathom
Why can't any team field against the Cubs? Another rally started on a routine error, this time a grounder right past LaRoche. I can't remember the last time they won not thanks in large part to a terrible fielding play.

Greg The Bull Luzinski
Linebrink is pitching like he is already a member of the White Sox bullpen. To hell with firing Net Yost. WHy hasn't Yost taken his own life yet?
CWSGuy406
So I hedged my bets and put money on Cleveland and San Diego to win the Series tonight, as they were the best combinations of odds + overall talent. You guys shall now witness my luck firsthand, as somehow, someway, neither Cleveland or the Padres will even make the playoffs.

Brian
QUOTE(CardsJimEdmonds15 @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 12:44 AM) Not sure how that's gonna help.. considering Ned Yost will use him more than a batter I've always liked Ray King. You as a Card fan should know he can be effective. His best year was with the Cardinals. I was shocked watching the game last night to see Russel Branyan on St. Louis. Never heard they picked him up. Than he hits a bomb!
CardsJimEdmonds15
Oh no doubt Ray King can be very effective.. he was a nice addition for us in the Wainwright for Drew trade.. just dont seem him ANYMORE more than a LOOGY.. But all good things said and how much he helped the Cardinals, he's no longer on the team and he's on a divisional team so whatever happened with us.. throw it out and I hope he stinks with Milwaukee Yea they picked up Branyan last Friday when Rolen was put on the DL.. He didnt make in appearance til 2 days ago.. went 1/2 as a PH in the 11-0 Pit win.. started yesterday.. Went 1/4 with that HR..

fathom
Actually, it was a rocket. Pierre's had some great at-bats this series. I think Dodgers were just happy to win the first two games of the series, and half-assed this game.

I have no clue why the Cards put him in the rotation at such a key point. Because their other options are Anthony Reyes, and Mike Maroth, who I guess is pitching tomorrow. If Carpenter never got hurt, they'd be about 5 games up.
