TWO OUT OF THREE?! :gosox4:

A WHITE SOX WINNER, AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! just kidding

It's sad b/c if it wasn't for our latest piece of crap in the bullpen, Bobby Jenks, we could have just gained 3 games on Cleveland. Instead, it's only 1.

I'll take series wins. Better 2 of 3 and gain some confidence (I hope).

On to Boston to get Contreras back on track. Carmines have been stumbling a bit since the break - would be good to split that series.

A split would be awful if it means KW thinks we can still compete. Either sweep the series or get swept. With Contreras and Danks going, it's going to be hard to win more than 2 games that series.

I don't think KW is naive enough for that. If there were decent moves to be made I think he would do it. The lack of trades i simply a testament to teams not wanting to trade young, cheap players (Rosenthal has a column about that up now I think...).

Really, anything is awful if KW thinks we can still compete. This team should have been torn apart quite a while ago because this is merely the team creeping back to .500, like they've done in every year for about the past decade (with the exceptions of 2000, 2003, and 2005).

47-21, or a .691 winning percentage, to get to 90 wins and an outstanding 3rd place finish. Whoopee :bang

I would hope not, but I could see him talking about how this team had a winning road trip and is showing signs of turning it around if they split in Boston. Hopefully Dye keeps hitting well, and it's a great time for Contreras to have a good start. I think teams like the Dodgers, Mets, and Brewers might start to panic and offer more in trades in about 10 days.
