whitesoxfan101
Not sure why the Patriots needed to blatently cheat with this much talent, at all, just makes it more confusing. But damn they are good, and damn the San Diego offense has major issues.

Only giving LDT the ball 9 times in the second half last year cost them the Superbowl. Firing Schottenheimer when he mismanages a game so badly was almost necessary. BearSox
I was just thinking, if the Chargers want any hope they need a big defensive/special teams play... then they force the fumble.

Kyyle23
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) Everybody can make fun of Wolfe all they want, but I can tell you right now that if he's in on 3rd down, he'll at least block the guy blitzing. I don't know if he can be an NFL running back or not, but he can block 10 times better than the 2 guys ahead of him in his sleep, and at least protect Rex. the wierd thing is that Adrian Peterson was known to be pretty good at protecting the QB the last couple of years, but this year he has been flat out awful. The blitz pickups have not been good and opposing defenses are probably going to continue pinning their ears back and rushing consistently until either Benson or Peterson start picking it up better, or until Rex starts making them play with some hot routes. If neither of those two happen, Griese is going to be playing anyways because Grossman is going to have a concussion or some sort of serious injury. Seriously, some of the shots he is taking are just insane, painful to watch.
WhiteSoxfan1986
Man I wish the Bears would have went after David Carr. Grossman sucks, but Griese is probably just as bad.

If that's true, it's tough for me to understand how he got the job so easily. On an unrelated note, why hasn't Byron Leftwich been picked up yet? Has he deteriorated that much? I always thought he was an above average QB with an absolute cannon of an arm...

Yeah, I'm not a big Norv Turner fan either, and I really think the Chargers are going to disappoint a lot of people this year. Probably a 10 win team just because of how ridiculous the talent level is on that roster, but it really wouldn't surprise me if Turner's gone after this season. Outstanding OC, bad head coach. I'd also assume he got the job simply because he was experienced and it was late in the offseason when Schottenheimer was fired.

They really mismanaged the situation there by not ending up with Phillips or Cameron as their head coach. People may criticize Phillips' playoff record, but the guy knows how to run a defense very well, and his regular season record is really pretty decent. Grossman's main strength over Orton and Griese is his ability to go down the field with the ball. They haven't really done that at all yet, and if they don't plan on doing it, Orton is the better choice IMO.

Gregory Pratt
Grossman sucks. He is a career lower-level quarterback. Of course, he's the best option we have, but that isn't saying anything.

Gregory Pratt
Shame it isn't this season. Berrian's running all these medium routes, Bradley hasn't caught a pass yet, nor has Hester, and one of his few targets is a dump-off. On some of Rex's passes for receivers coming back, he throws it WAY in front. The Bears as a whole just seem to be playing scared, frightened about the pick. You don't collect speed at the wr position and run comebacks all the time. Let the ball fly once in a while, goddammit.

Yeah, McNabb is likely gonna be cut by the Eagles to save some money for the Eagles, and in the draft they did spend a high second round pick on Kevin Kolb, I believe it was. And I'd have no problem with McNabb in Chicago. In fact, I'd love it.

Honestly, I haven't noticed him either. Game 1 he was still recovering -- he said himself that he played 4 snaps. This past week, he was supposed to be healthy, he was certainly active, but...?
