southsideirish71
Andrew Miller might have nintendo stuff and all. But one point I would like to say, is to take a gander at his motion. He throws across his body in a violent manner. There was this texan who struck out 20 on the northside that used to do that same type of thing. He may be healthy forever. But that motion would scare the hell out of me for the long run.
IlliniKrush
Rowand would have put that on the concourse.
southsideirish71
Damn that unclutch Thome. He only hits useless home runs.

I noticed this too...the only thing that might 'save' him is the fact that he comes basically 3/4 (or lower) on the arm angle.

southsideirish71
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Rowand would have put that on the concourse. Imagine if Ditka coached Rowand. The world might end when a second god was created here in Chicago. We would be leading 99 to -8. Anything hit in the air, would be caught. And there would be a warning at midway for airplanes flying near the park.
fathom
The timing on that homer was comical by Thome.
greg775
Rowand would have put that on the concourse. The question is, could we have traded some other guys and still gotten Thome? It seems to me somebody was suggesting the Phils would have taken others for Jimmy. Rowand and Thome would look great together on this team. greg775
A pessimist would say we are going to lose 7-6 or our bullpen will be Sox-like and we'll lose 12-6. An optimist would suggest we continue this rally and win 10-7. Which is it?

fathom
Our bullpen, I'm sure, will make it so we don't just have to get one run to tie the rest of this game.

Kalapse
23 of Jim Thome's 42 HR last season came when the Sox were within 2 runs of the opponent. 27 within 3 R, 34 within 4 R, 17 within 1 R and 10 in tied games. Only 8 of his HR came when the margin was >4. Of the 16 HR Jim Thome hit in the 7th inning or later last season, 11 of them were critical. 1 provided insurance when the opponent was within 2 runs 1 provided insurance when the opponent was within 1 run 2 brought the Sox within 3 R 2 brought the Sox within 1 R 2 tied the game up 3 gave the Sox the lead
