greasywheels121
Pretty good week for Mr. Buehrle. Also, congrats to Danny Richar (first ML hits) and Jerry Owens (first ML HR) on providing the noteworthy offense tonight.

briguy27
Why don't I get first dibs at the WHITE SOX WINNER thread since I had the game thread?
max power
Games from the kids like this show me that we can compete next year, not to open that whole can of worms yet again.
RME JICO
Jenks with save #30. He is tied for the league lead with Putz, and has the 3rd most saves in the bigs since 2006 (Hoffman, Rodriguez). With the Tigers and Indians losses, the Sox are now 12.5 and 12.0 GB respectively.
Harry Chappas
Jenks ball was moving beautifully today and toyed with Thomas a little it seemed like. I think he has taken pressure off his eloow by throwing a little differently.

southsider2k5
That's five wins out of six games. With a couple of guys starting to solidify the pen a bit, the team is playing decent ball.
rpmahr
it's nice to see buerhle get even better after he signed his contract. i know he has many more years left to pitch for us, but at least he didn't pack it in and turn to s*** like zito. Rowand44
Mark is so damn awesome. Bobby seems to be back in his groove after a little rough patch, so that's great to see. How'd Richar look? Obviously judging from the boxscore he had a very nice game. Edited July 29, 2007 by Rowand44

First hit was a basehit up the middle, although Mcdonald fielded it but couldnt make the play. His next hit was to the left side, Glaus was playing in and he put it between ss and Glaus for a hit. Then Owens hit him in. He didnt get much action on defense besides the dp turns. Nice start, and against Halladay surely a big confident boost for Ownes also. Dick Allen
Jenks was throwing 95-96 tonight. That's the hardest I've seen all year at USCF. Fields in the 2 hole might be good for him. He might shorten his swing a little more, take more into RF and make more contact.

TheBigHurt
Damn. First game game I've missed in weeks and Richar was playing? How did he look offensively/defensively?
Guest
with no pressure, the white sox are eating up the competition. You can put THAT on da board...YES!
Guest
richar looked great! and this was off of doc halladay. im talking about his two hits. i think he's our 2B of the future...no doubt.
SoxFanForever
From what I saw at the game Richar seems to range around better and has a stronger throwing arm than Tad.
briguy27
Damn. First game game I've missed in weeks and Richar was playing? How did he look offensively/defensively? He turned 1, maybe 2, DP's. He's got a better arm then Tad from what it looked like. He was 2-3, with a single up the middle that McDonald stopped, and a fairly hard hit ball in between Glaus and McDonald. JUSTgottaBELIEVE
i was at the game today and i have to say that richar turning DPs compared to iguchi is like night and day he gets rid of the ball slightly quicker and his arm strength is head an shoulders above iguchi. i was impressed and hopefully thats one less hole the sox have to fill for next year
Sonik22
Owens!!!! Richar's first DP was a cannon to first base! I'm so excited to watch this kid play!
Maverick0984
If anyone cared, Iguchi went 1/3 for Philly with an RBI, run scored, and a walk.
103 mph screwball
Went to the game tonight and I feel much better about the team. I realize that it was just one game, but something about Pods back and the kids Richar, Fields, and Owens contributing made me less pissed about this seasons disappointments and more optimistic. There seemed to be a swagger of confidence returning. I had by far the worst seats I've ever had but had a great time.
