Soxbadger
Yes. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/SportSele...p;Q_SEASON=2008 But when you look at OSU's schedule even if they lose to USC, they most likely wont lose another game. (Oct 04 at Wisconsin and Nov 15 at Illinois are the 2 hardest away games). So even if they lose to USC at USC, they still can win every game and still probably get their rematch in the NC. bmags
QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) Yeah, agreed on McCoy sucking. Along with Charles they lose their top WR this year to go with Limas Sweed who got hurt midway through the year. They lose all 3 of their 1st team All Big 12 guys (Charles, DB Marcus Griffin, and an OL). Their 2 2nd team Big 12 guys, both DL including Frank Okam, are gone. They lose a few more key contributors. 3 of their starting secondary. It would be completely foolish to say they are going to be bad next year because they are Texas, they have the talent to replace these guys. However, with the focus of their offense this season gone, noticeable losses elsewhere, and Colt McCoy still starting at QB they can definitely struggle by their standards in what should be a strong year for the Big 12. it's hard for me to worry about texas tech when we play so well against that offense. I mean damn, if we can find someone to replace garret (who straight up sucks), I feel our D will be just as good, if not better next year. Especially with the way Ziggy Hood played, spoon getting better, and willy mo being a straight up beast. offensively, what do you think the chances are T. Temples appeal goes through? no chance in hell?
Palehosefan
The Big 12 is going to be ridiculous next year. OU returns most and will be a top 6 preseason team. KU and MU both return a lot and should be pre-season top 15 teams. Texas Tech returns 18 starters and adds several 4 star Juco's on the DL and has a very good freshmen RB coming in, should start out pre-season around 14-15th. Texas returns some nice talent, but loses 2 OL, best DT, top rusher(Charles, thank God), best WR(Sweed), 2nd WR Billy Pitman, LB Killebrew, and their safety Griffen. Big 12 South should come down to OU and TTU next year, with Texas in 3rd. Big 12 North should come down to MU and KU again(suprise suprise). All 5 schools should be in the top 25 most of the year with OU, MU, KU, and TTU fighting for top 10. Texas should have a relatively down year, especially with questions about how well Colt McCoy is going to be healed and Charles not on the backfield most likely. Heck, even Colorado is going to be getting the top RB in the nation in Darrell Scott.
bmags
we are getting some 4 star TE i'm looking forward to seeing replace Rucker. Tough shoes to fill, but now Coffman gets #1 duties. Now, RB is what I'm anxious to see turn out.
RockRaines
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) OSU will return basically everyone from a team that this was supposed to be their "off year". If you look back to the start of the year most experts said it would be next years OSU team that really was dominating, so the fact that they already are in the NC game is scarey. And we are bringing in a top 3 recruiting class next year as well. 09 is shaping up to be a top one already. Its going to be a rough road for our opponents. OSU also just announced picking up TCU in 2009 as the first game precluding the home matchup vs USC>
Brian
Rumors abound that Ryan Mallett may transfer to UCLA after the retirement of Lloyd Carr. Supposedly his mom spoke out about something. Not sure of what yet.

Temples appeal goes through? no chance in hell? I'm not too worried about the D as long as Moore comes back. Keck, who was their best recruit a year ago, was hurt this year and should step in to a starting spot somewhere on the defense (DE/LB). Temple is almost certainly gone and it's not a huge loss IMO. He had some great games, but struggled with consistency. Derrick Washington is going to be amazing, he showed some serious talent this year and he should be solid enough with the pass heavy offense. In two years with Chase gone and Gabbert stepping in, Washington will be a key part of the transition.

whitesoxfan101
UCLA will be on probation before they can ever compete with USC. Neuheisel is a great coach but he's also scum, he makes Kelvin Sampson look like a choir boy. And as long as Carroll is at USC, you can't compete with them, they are literally like an NFL team. Palehosefan
Would be hilarious to see UCLA get sanctions before USC, while the NCAA takes 20 years to investiage the Reggie Bush situation. Reminds me of Duke with Corey Maggette getting paid before entering Duke and nobody from the NCAA wanting to talk about it.

Rex Hudler
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 09:32 AM) Talking about returning a lot of players, can anyone guess which team this is... 1) They just won 10 games. 2) They return their top 3 RBs, top 4 WRs, and all 5 O-lineman. 3) They do, however, lose the QB who was a 3 1/2 year starter for them. 4) On defense, they lose their two starting DE's. However, those two guys coupled for the lowest sack total for both DE's in years for this program. 5 sacks and 12.5 TFL combined for both starting DE's. The top backup DE had 4 sacks and 12 TFL by himself. 5) They return their top 3 DTs. 6) They return their 1st team all-conference MLB as well as their 2nd team all-conference WILL. 7) They lose their SAM, but he was the "3rd" LB of the corps this year. Easily replaceable with a former 5-star, Sophomore-to-be waiting in the wings for next year. 8) They lose one of their starting Safeties, but return every other DB that got ample PT. Both starting (freshman) CBs, the nickle back, and the dime back. Also, a starting Safety from a year ago is said to be re-applying for admission to the school, and it's believed he'll be back on the team. 9) They also return their kicker and punter (both were named 2nd team all-conference). Pretty stacked team, eh? Yep, it's Tennessee. Of the 24 starters, they only lose 6, most of which will be replaced by better players next year. The SEC East is gonna be so stacked next year. Don't forget to add they lose the only OC they have won with in the past decade along with 2-3 other offensive coaches.

My biggest problems with the rb's my first 2 years was they fumbled, a lot, it seemed. I'm not ready for those giveaways again.
dasox24
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) Don't forget to add they lose the only OC they have won with in the past decade along with 2-3 other offensive coaches. Cutcliffe is overrated. I've seen every game the past 2 seasons and he is so conservative, especially if UT goes up by 2 or 3 TD's. He'll just sit on the ball and allow other teams to come back by run, run, run, punt every possession. His play calling in the SEC championship game was just awful. Yeah, Ainge did poorly, but it doesn't help when the OC calls plays that only include 5 yard out routes and slants, and screen passes. Not gonna be very successful doing that. Me, as well as every other Tennessee fan I know, was happy to learn he was a candidate for the Duke job. We were all hoping he'd take it, and when he did, we were all rejoicing. The loss that will hurt is losing Trooper Taylor. He was my favorite coach on the entire staff. But, I'd have to imagine there will be loads of highly qualified coaches out there who'll want to go to a program like Tennessee, so I'm not too worried. Guess Coach K said he could play football and basketball there. Is it true Pryor will anounce where he is going during that high school all star game this weekend? No Lots of rumors flying about Pryor. People with Oregon still think they have a great shot at him. I don't see him picking Duke in the end because he has stated that football is his #1 priority and the talk of him playing both sports in college has died down somewhat. In the end, most think it will come down to a battle between Michigan and Ohio State. Many forget that Michigan was on his list for a long time because he loved the school and the atmosphere, but his interest eventually waned because he didn't think the offense would fit. It does now. Michigan is scheduled to be his last official visit. Expect his recruitment to go all the way to signing day or real close to it.
