Kershaw's gotta be #1

Morales and McGee in the 2-4 range

After that, I'm struggling.

Elbert is done for a year.

Did they include Manny Parra, whose stuff is off the charts, but is having his first healthy season in, well, forever?

Can be Andrew Miller, can it?

Lofgren? Gio's stuff and numbers easily eclipse his

If I'm makin a list it goes

Kershaw

Gio

McGee (I might put him ahead of Gio)

Morales (whose K numbers don't quite match up to his heat)

They are being really careful with Gonzalez in Birmingham, they want to make sure they don't over use him.

He was pulled after 90 pitches a few nights ago and that seems to be about his limit. This is a young guy who still needs to fill out, get stronger, etc. I like how they're handling him up to now.

I just typed up Gio under the MiLB.com player search and his name came up without a team next to it. This is something that sometimes happens when a player gets promoted. Do you guys know if his name has been like this (without a team next to it) for a while, or perhaps he may be getting moved up? After all, his last three games have been very good. Just something I noticed...

It's had that for me for a while.

Sox 2009 rotation

Buehrle

Javy

Garland???

Danks

Floyd

Gio

Maybe that'll be it in 2008, who knows.

Gio is a big question for the rotation next year as I've heard they want to keep taking it slow with him. Floyd needs to prove he doesn't suck, and I feel Jon's gone this offseason for an outfielder of some sort.

That's why I said maybe to 2008. I would rather him take as much time in AAA as needed to come to full potential, and to get stronger and put on some weight.

Hi folks new to the board.

Who says Gio needs to get bigger and stronger? Baseball America's latest Prospect Hot Sheet has him up to 6 feet tall now :cheers

"6. Gio Gonzalez, lhp, Double-A Birmingham (White Sox)

The six-foot lefthander continues to state his case as the top prospect in the White Sox farm system, leading the minor leagues with 158 strikeouts in 122 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, Gonzalez has thrown 19 2/3 innings, allowing just two runs and compiling a 26-to-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio."

They also gave him 10 extra strikeouts for good measure.

Hm. The legends grows.

Actually, since he is 21 and entered the minors at (I think) 19... it is entirely possible he has in fact grown since he entered the system. Some kids are still getting taller at 19 and 20.

supposedly david robinson grew 5 inches while at the naval academy, which is why he didnt have to serve his 5 years...too tall

Yeah, I think he was a guard until, like, the end of high school, which is why he had pretty good passing/dribbling skills for a big man.
