SoxFan77
And is a notoriously good leader and high energy player. This guy would thrive on a team with the talent we have around him. Could you imagine him in this lineup? I dont even know where to bat him. 1. Owens 2. Fields? 3. Thome 4. Konerko 5. Tejada 6. Dye 7. AJP 8. Sweeney 9. Richar Can you say.. 100mil 5th place team.. I bet you can.
daa84
QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) Can you say.. 100mil 5th place team.. I bet you can. funny because the only difference between taht lineup and the 4th place lineup the sox have right now is pods and sweeney, which is close to a wash, and tejada >>>>>> uribe.....so im not seeing how we go from 4th to 5th by making those moves

That's where you could see a huge decline.

Balta1701
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) not if one of them is Jose. If Jose is traded and Tejada and Dye are added, then you will need 3 starting pitchers to be traded, because trading Jose does not clear salary. I'd be shocked if KW dealt Jose in the off-season. The Sox would have to eat about 60-75% of his remaining salary. Hopefully JC can get off to a good start in April and KW can dump his salary for a pack of Big League Chew.
DBAHO
Anyone know how deep the SP's available in Free Agency this off-season is? If it isn't, some team with a hole in their rotation, may just decide to take a chance on Jose, stranger things have happened before. Some team in the NL in a good pitching envrionment may possibly think he could rebound.

If the White Sox paid 1/2 and the team didn't have to give up any real talent, then we could probably work something out...but us paying 1/2 removes all reason for trading him in the first place. 29andPoplar
The intruiging name there is Matt Clement. Not certain what his health status is but if he's recovered or appears to have recovered, he might be a bargain for someone.
