SnB
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) Move in day is pretty insane, traffic sucks in/around campus and there's nowhere to park. Even on a non-move in day it can be quite obnoxious trying to drive/park anywhere near Green Street between the one-way streets and high volume of car/foot traffic. The pedestrians aren't really any better, especially when intoxicated, they often cross the street whenever/wherever they want. I'm already moved into my place. I don't plan to take my car out of it's spot for a couple of days. It was bad enough today without the freshmen.
MHizzle85
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) I rue tomorrow when the vampires come in and clog all the roads so townies like me are unable to go to their jobs in a reasonable timeframe. Not to mention when their sense of entitlement means longer lines at all the local stores and terrible driving skills (i.e. the guy that nearly t-boned me last year when he decided he wanted to make a left turn from the far right hand lane going south on Lincoln at Lincoln and Springfield...and here I was as a sucker being in the left turn lane with a green arrow when he nearly hit me. Best part was the guy screaming at me like I did something wrong. (Edit, for those who are not UIUC'ers or Chambana residents -- Lincoln + Springfield is a two lane each way road and the left turn lane makes it have a fifth lane at the corner) UIUC campus move in is an absolute clusterf*** of a high degree and really annoys townies like me who enjoy the town and don't like people who just sap things out of the community and whose only contributions (by and far -- it isn't everybody but there are too damn many) include puking outside repeatedly, vocal obnoxiousness and payment of drunk in public or parking tickets. Holy crap, I know what you're talking about...what an idiot.
Rowand44
My house is absolutely amazing, I really couldn't be happier with it. Moving couches and such into the house, not as amazing. My room is all moved in and pertty and the living room is getting there as well(though my roommates and I are eventually going to buy a nice HD tv to put in there). So ya, this place absolutely kicks ass, too bad school starts on Monday.

What you majoring in? I'll be entering my freshman year at Grand Valley State University (Back to back NCAA DIV II Football Champs) and I'm moving back the 22nd of August. 1st day of school is on my birthday, the 27th. Oh, and I'm majoring in Broadcasting. Don't forget your fake ID.

Felix
I was supposed to move in today, but my flight was canceled (screw you Continental), so I can't move in until tomorrow. Luckily for me, the lovely Continental scheduled me for a 7 AM flight, meaning I get to leave my hour at about 4:30. Man, I love flying! The Beast
I just got through my first few classes today and things are looking good. My economics teacher is hilarious, the english cirriculum here is solid, and the non-western arts course is going to be very informative. My roommate and I have gotten along so far, and we're hoping guys come over and watch the Bears game tonight on the new TV we have. The move in was very easy and coming back from a convention that same weekend of moving in was quite easy. It looks like things are looking better around here. Soxbadger
I dont think I ever attended class for the first week. Soxbadger
Why? All classes are equally bad, most classes I attended like 3 times the whole semester. And if a class was before 3pm Id never show. College was the best.
