bjm676
Last time I checked, the Sox won last night. I can't really blame Ozzie for Uribe making his errors. Or the bullpen collapsing this year or the lack of offense earlier this year. Really, this nitpicking is getting really tired.
RockRaines
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) Good point, I'm sorry I forgot to put it in my post. WHY did he let Erstad hit with Thome still available?!?! So stupid, thank GOD we won this time at least. And good call Steve Stone. Go ahead and flame my post, drones. We won, so Ozzie is great!! Uhh.... Drones? You have proven time and time again that you still dont understand the workings of a baseball game. If it makes you feel like a unique person by criticizing someone who knows 1000 percent more about baseball than you do, then fine go ahead. All you have proven is that you are a repetitive poster who can only b**** about the same thing over and over.
RockRaines
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:43 PM) He couldnt PH for Erstad, or else Thome would have to play first, because Konerko was the DH. So he was going to have thome hit for Gonzalez and probably sub richar in the game, but thome never got to the plate Otherwise known as he doesnt know the rules of the game. TheBigHurt
I'm really surprised that there's many supporters left for Ozzie, and I honestly kinda laugh at them. I can't remember who it was, but I pretty much lost all the remaining support I had for Ozzie when he put the shift on for some guy who was batting .190 or something, then kept the shift on after he tried bunting it down the first base line. That was it for me. Ozzie is not a good manager. Period. Edited August 9, 2007 by TheBigHurt

That was it for me. Ozzie is not a good manager. Period. I've tried to be as objective as possible when criticizing some of Ozzie's more questionable moves. The thing is, Sox fans were World Series starved for so many years. Any criticism of Ozzie, or KW for that matter is seen by a good many Sox fans as heresy. That doesn't change the fact that KW has been streaky good and streaky bad, and Ozzie often employs strategies that baffle some of us. LVSoxFan
I'm still happy with Ozzie as a manager for now so I'm not about to jump on any anti-Ozzie bandwagon. I'm sure some of the people here are right about him sometimes but my attitude is: this team has been sucking all year and really--what does he have to work with? Now they're kinda coming together FINALLY. Another year of this though, and I may be less understanding.

Every single move he makes is scutinized by some people. I think of it like grading a paper from a student. They may miss a comma or punctionation every once in a while, but the paper can still be excellent overall. Some people just seem to get really bent out of shape, on a misplaced, comma, and can't step back and take a good overall look on what has been done right.
