southsideirish71
QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 02:13 PM) This is comical. When Jeff Weaver is making your team look this bad then you know you have problems. Pathetic...this is insanely pathetic. JEFF WEAVER????? Arm angles, and 100 mph on the black will kill you. We are lucky to have scratched out 2 hits against the Krakon.

BearSox
The sad thing is Jeff Weaver isn't even impressive at all. I could stomach this a little more if he was actually dominating, but he is leaving pitches up over the plate and hanging breaking balls and one after another, a swing and a miss, a pop out, or a GIDP. This is pathetic.
BearSox
all hail the great white sox offense trained by no other then the greatest hitter the game has ever seen, Greg Walker.

kwolf68
This performance is slowly becomming the low point of the season. Having Jake Westbrook or Mike Musina roll you up is a bit tough to swallow, but they are actual major league pitchers, who have (or had) good stuff. Jeff Weaver is one of the worst starting pitchers on earth. Our offense should be embarassed. I betcha next time out Weaver doesn't last 4 innings (unless he draws the Sox). Dick Allen
Suddenly all those who said KW fleeced Daniels in the McCarthy trade are silenced. One of the big things on this board on why McCarthy would never be any good, funny how that can be concluded already, but Gavin Floyd needs a chance, was the propencity to give up the long ball. I said maybe that total can go down, but was told no. McCarthy has allowed 8 homers this season. Danks-25.
Dick Allen
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) Shutout so far by the hapless 3-10, 6.07 ERA Jeff Freakin' Weaver... GMAFB. The Tigers must have been on suicide watch after Floyd shut them down. Even bad pitchers have decent days every now and then.
Capn12
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) The Tigers must have been on suicide watch after Floyd shut them down. Even bad pitchers have decent days every now and then. That also was without 2 of their best hitters. Who are we not playing from our amazing starting lineup, that should be in there and doing damage possibly?

santo=dorf
Don't look now, but Bukvich's ERA is now at 2.96 Which is just another reason why ERA by middle relief isn't really worth dilly. Honestly, why should Seattle keep trying to score runs? They're up by 6, Weaver is shutting us down, and our offense is cold.
Capn12
A middle reliever with an ERA of 3.00 sounds so sexy, until people actually sit and consider what that means with the limited appearances...such a garbage number indeed.

That didn't seem to stop teams from running up the score at the other garbage KW claimed was a strong bullpen.
