We have to remember...there is an EXCELLENT chance that Alomar and Everett won't be around next year, so their long term "damage" to the clubhouse is minimal. I didn't want to lose Cotts, but no team is gonna give away a guy with switch-hitting power for someone like Blockhead Jimenez or Jon Rauch (who knows what his status is). I would rather have left Harris and Crash in CF, but since the move was made on good intentions for the team, I'm all for it.

Everett looks like he weighs 240.

Jim, I didn't agree with you before, but on this one, I do. I was never a big fan of either Alomar or Everett, so I don't think there is any bias there. From the beginning, I thought that Alomar could help this team. I hated the idea of Everett from moment one.

AGAIN, and as always, you post crap stats, that arent legit, to support your negative outlook. THe guy can hit, has always hit, and will continue to hit. ONLY A MORON would use 90 at bats to try and prove a point.

Anytihng official on Everett. If its Cotts and Jimenez I don't like it, just Jimenez and two lesser guys (One probably Rauch the other probably a lower guy); Me guessing; then it isn't bad.

If we give up the two of them, then I'll be dissapointed.

LIke the Alomar deal a lot.

Then this moron will just use 3,204 AB's. Is that sample size big enough for you??? You look at those numbers and tell me with a straight face and half a brain that the guy "has always hit". He has had TWO, arguably 3 good years. If you don't know your s***, don't spout it off.

Thats not hitting to you?  Thats not a good pickup for our lineup. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ooooooooooooooook lol.  :P

C'mon Bmr.... Do you REALLY think you can say he is a great hitter with those numbers?? He has had two good seasons and a good start to this one. That's it. The rest scream of a 4th outfielder.

No? When did i say hes a great hitter? I said hes always hit? Im not a moron. This guy isnt a great hitter. Hes a decent left handed bat that is going to help our lineup.

The question is, will Everett be appreciably better than Rowand/Harris in CF, taking into account defense and what the Sox gave up to get him?

If he has a monster 2nd half and is a key player in the Sox winning, then I will consider relenting. But I think the Sox were primed for that, without him. THAT is my problem with the trade. How much better will he actually make the Sox than what they would have been without him and how does that compare with what they gave up. If Cotts, Honel, or Wing are not involved, then I may be able to stomach it more. But I can't see dealing a guy with top of the rotation ability for someone I don't think will make a huge difference.

What they gave up is very important, but comparing rowand and harris favorably to Everett, is crazy. Its not even close.

Cotts, Wing, Honel and a few others can't be involved along with Jimenez.

I'm happy if Jimenez is the key guy cause this really fills a whole and whose not to say if these moves pay off that it doesn't mean that the Sox don't reup on these guys.

This were huge freaking moves.

In regards to defense, I'm thinking we'll see Harris and Rowand still get plenty of action as well as Daubach. I'm thinking Daubach will play a lot of DH and left field while Carlos will also dh a lot more with Rowand or Harris playing some left or Everett doing it.

My next guess is we'll see the Sox make a move for a reliever with Glover as one of the guys used as bait.
