SoxFan1
Gammons LOOOVES both deals for the Sox. What a grea day in Sox history! I cant believe KW pulled the trigger on 2 deals on 2 good players!
DonkeyKongerko
If I go purely from a media frenzy thing I have to like the way this was done. Two big deals in less than 24 hours giving us two pretty big names in MLB. A week before an All Star Game and a right after this team has taken 4 out of 6 from the fan-favorite Cubs. witesoxfan
You even said it yourself....Gammons is f***ing clueless(or something like that). I do like one thing though....it does add another LH bat in the middle of the lineup(he's a switch hitter I believe). Thomas, Everett, Maggs, Daubach, Lee, Valentin....that's R-S-R-L-R-S.....that's quite a switched up lineup. And then you have Robby Alomar hitting in front of Thomas too(or I guess leading off now). That's what I don't like about this deal. Without Everett, we actually had a leadoff hitter....Harris has been doing a hell of a job for us. Did KW not realize that by making this trade he's just putting us in the same situation that we were in earlier this year, with everybody swinging for the fences and hitting a lot of solo shots and not playing small ball? Dammit
Flingz
I'd still rather have J.D. Drew
Spiff
i would think everett bats second, after alomar. but if manuel wants to go LRLRLR then maybe he'll be further down.

Dammit The speed problem is a definite subject to talk about...good point. I don't think i'm sold on this deal at all. however, it's going to give the team a shot in the arm knowing they have the backing and confidence of their front office that they can win with this team. Is it official anywhere who we gave up yet?

I could do that, because we then have a good LH bat off the bench in Daubach. I am in favor of letting Willie leadoff no matter what. IlliniKrush
When/If Daubach cools and PK still isn't hitting, Lee can DH which opens the spot for Harris i guess. At least we have some options if guy start to go cold, and we have guys off the bench to use late in the game
Spiff
id rather play rowand than harris. since everyone is so keen on June batting averages, look at Rowand's .375 compared to willie's .228.

I forgot about Rowand....he could play too, and he apparently would be a better option. I just want some small ball to go along with out heavy bats. I don't know about you, but Carlos is actually growing on me. I'm starting to like him more and more as the days go on. He's starting to field the ball better, he's getting more agressive(while still doing the smart thing) on the bases, and he's flat out getting better fundamentally. And you apparently didn't see the play he made tonight....it wasn't a bad play, to tell you the truth. Web gem material. Just get everyone regular playing time....get Frank, Maggs, Dauber, Carl, Carlos, Jose, Willie, Robby, Joe, and Aaron regular playing time, have Sandy and Miguel platoon(simple enough), and get Graffy and Paully in there too(or explain to Paully that he should go to the minors and try to get his swing going, so that way if he gets it going before August 31st, he can come up and help us in the playoffs)

greg775
Dont call it one of the greatest days in Sox history yet. While Everett and Alomar could excel, they also could suck. I do hope they excel and we win the pennant.
baggio202
lee's defense has improved..but he still plays the deepest LF in baseball and his arm is s***..id like him more as an DH but we already got a pretty good one...for this season i wouldnt mess with lee though...as someone else said he is finally starting to hit to all fields and with both rowand and harris on the bench we can use both of them as late inning defensive replacements..i wouldnt want to mess up lee by moving him to DH now that he finally is playing halfway decent... will be interesting this off season with lee...he will arb eligable if we dont extend his contact and he makes 4.2 million now so he will probably go to arbitration asking 7 million or so...is he worth that much??? Soxplosion
No I didnt see it. What was it like? And even when everyone hated his D, he still made a great catch every once in a while. Last year, I was at Comiskey and he robbed Carlos Pena of a bomb. I remember thinking oh crap (I believe that woulda tied the game) and Carlos made an awesome play to rob Pena. We ended up winning like 10-3 or something. It was 5-4 at the time I think. If he doesnt make that play were down 6-5 and we dont have the momentum. But he gave us the momentum there...
