ottawa_sox
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) Holy cow, Richar is trying his best to keep me unimpressed. Looks like a weak, slap hitter right now. How about now?

Kalapse
That was quite awesome. And meanwhile Jerry Owens is still terrible.

fathom
Went to White Hen, and got back just in time to hear Hawk screaming about the homer. Very impressive by Richar....well done!
Brian
That was the Richar I saw in the Detroit series. Hitting it hard in the gaps of that big park. He always has good ABs and has a good eye. Heck, isn't his OBP like .130 pts higher than his average?
fathom
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:48 AM) Next year they better not flip those cards, scary things will be glaring back at them. This made me laugh.

fathom
So, Ozzie needs to find a way to get Fields in the order next year between two lefties so that he'll face more LHP out of the pen.

He must of been thinking the element of surprise along with left hand hitting Thome on deck.......
southsideirish71
Any reason besides insanity that Contreras is still out there.
fathom
This is where I wish Ozzie would pull Contreras. Let him go out on a good note, and avoid the possible explosion.

southsideirish71
Seattle fans think they are at an MLS game with the Ole Ole Ole chants. Hell when Oakland plays Seattle it must be a musical hoot.
ottawa_sox
I think Jose has been fairly decent tonight ......... a little unlucky, partially brought on by himself. But he is only up to 90 pitches and down by 1.
kwolf68
Counts final totals (should this be it for him) were not completely atrocious. Don't know if it's enough to bring much in here, but we need something...prefereably a young SS....our short stop situation is abysmal...we had a 34 year old starting in AAA tonight, and a late 20s SS starting in AA. Single A has the rapidly regressing Valido...in short, we got jack. Get someone, ANYONE for this position.

I still think a major deal will be made to bring in a SS. Miranda is still too far out to project. The other guys in our system are old or they suck. So, I believe a SP will be dealt with a SS being the center piece of any deal. Edited August 18, 2007 by kwolf68
