WHarris1
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) Who do you want to see the Cubs face in the first round? Call me crazy but I still have a lot of faith in the Mets. But Phily has to pull the wild card for them to play the Mets, so go Phily? But Phily has to pull the wild card for them to play the Mets, so go Phily? I don't see any possibility that both NL East teams make it. I would love to see the Mets in the first round, as I trust their hitters to make contact on 92 mph down the plate. If not the Mets, then the Padres. I'm scared that it will be the DBacks with a struggling Webb and Augie Ojeda at 2b. At least I know I can count on you to be with me in the crusade against the Cubs. Oh hell ya, I simply can't stand these f***ing fans in times like this. I am with you that playing the DBacks is a nightmare scenario. At least facing Peavy/Young in a 5 game series is scarier than hell.

3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
The Cubs are garbage, the only good teams (over .500) the Cubs have a winning record against are Mil and Col http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings/grid, and as we can see, Milwaukee blows as well. Meanwhile the other night was hailed as a great comeback for the Cubs, when for us, it would've been, "What the hell are you doing needing to come back against KC anyways?!?!". I still have faith, this isn't the first year where they have just had to beat a couple garbage teams (I believe it was Cin and the Mets when they were bad) and completely choked it away, I'm more worried about Mil who will handily go down with them. The positive is that Mil still has extra games to play and are tied in the loss column, but then again, they have to play SD. The Cubs haven't been able to beat Florida in ages, I'm hoping the fighting fish can pull it off again and give Mil some breathing room

fathom
I'm sure happy that Yost took Braun out of the game. Didn't he learn from last close game they had with Astros on Labor Day?

fathom
Good thing I saw on ESPN that it was going into the top of the 10th, as that looked like a single off the bat.
fathom
I wonder if the Cubs are going to b**** that the Astros kept Lidge in for another inning? Fielder hit that ball hard, just no elevation.

fathom
Some scary hitters for the Astros coming up in this situation. The Astros have little left in the pen, so I actually think Yost should use Cordero.
fathom
I hate Matt Wise....he never seems to do well when I watch. A 3-1 changeup to Orlando Palmeiro? This game will be over in a few minutes. Edited September 20, 2007 by fathom

Looks like Yost comes from the Ozzie Guillen school of managing and won't bring in his closer during a tie game. Granted Cordero sucks on the road, but i'd rather have him in there right now. fathom
Matt Wise is always a rally starter for the other team. Maybe Lee will hit into a 5-4-3 TP.
