LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) Cubs will be playing the Dbacks in the first round. We need Webb to pitch well, because they have no chance to beat the Cubs if they lose with Webb on the mound. The 07 Cubs are much worse than the 03 team yet IMO have a better chance to reach to WS this year.
WhiteSoxfan1986
Well, at least they didn't get to celebrate on the field. Fathom's sig says it best-not a single thing has gone right during the 2007 baseball season. That should be the slogan for soxtalk.
Rex Kickass
As lovely as it would be to see the Cubs choke, I personally wouldn't mind seeing more World Series baseball in Chicago, even if it is the Urinal. The Cubs would be no better than third in ANY other division in baseball.

3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
This is brutal, getting World Series champion like coverage. When the Sox division was considered to be bad, the media felt that they should rip on the Sox for that. Seattle, Det, hell, even Toronto would be playoff teams in that league. They were done weeeeeeks ago here. And they still have better records. And even the Mets, as bad as they've been (and Phillies, who were earlier in the year) have a better record. I think KC could actually compete. ESPN.com is sickening, the Phillies in 1st should be a cover story, not some team finally clinching the worst division in baseball on the last weekend of the year because their competition blows, and then treating it like that was the World Series. I saw they quoted the "300 milll' spending amount again, which is a joke, when everyone else is credited with their annual payroll, not the total amount of the full length contracts, but yeah, what a story, they tried to buy a team, and then finally clinched a horrible division after the 300 mill team beat the minor league Reds because they couldn't win and had to prey the s***ty Brewers would lose to a good team
GreatScott82
Yep the NL is horrible!! In comparison the American League is like the AFC to the NFC in the NFL. Or like the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference in the NBA. I guess we shouldn't talk though, since our Sox went 4-11 in Interleague in 2007. The playoffs will probably look like this: NL Cubs @ Dbacks Padres @ Phillies AL Yankees @ Indians Angels @ Red Sox Now any one of those 4 AL should be there as any one of those teams will likely win it all. Looking at those NL teams is pretty pathetic. Only one of those teams will probably scratch the 90 win platuea (Arizona).
BigSqwert
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) Probably 8th or 9th best in the AL. Has there ever been a time where the difference between leagues has been this lopsided? How about last year? The Cards were just as lousy and won it all. LosMediasBlancas
I realize that 'Don't stop Believin' was pretty cheeseball, but when did that "Blow Cubs Blow" song become an anthem?

mr_genius
Well, since 2005 I have pretty much ignored the cubs, don't care if they win or lose. however, my cub hating ways seem to have returned. i am going to enjoy rooting against them in the playoffs. will be fun. the cubs do suck and i hope they lose first round (lose in spectacular fashion, like being swept). Texsox
Keep repeating, the Cubs only win today to make losing tomorrow that much more painful.
Jordan4life_2007
I can't take it anymore. Even my mother, who doesn't know baseball from tennis, has jumped on the Cubs Bnadwagon. We as Sox fans need to come together against this madness. In 2005, it was the Rally Crede, I forgot who came up with it, that lifted us. We need to come up with something to do the exact opposite for the Cubs. How about the Rally Bartman? Or maybe, atleast until they're hopefully eliminated, sport Bartman avatars? I will go with the latter for now.

He tells me that he is concentrating on who will represent the AL in the world series to see how much of a challenge it will be for the Cubs to win it all. Then he tells me that if the RedSox or yanks win they will take over their stadiums. I inform him that both teams have better road draws than the flubs, including sending him the road attendance stats. Stats be damned, the cub fans think they will take over everyones stadium. And his prediction is that the cubs sweep there way to a world series and dont lose a game. I hope they lose out in the first round.
